Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Recommended Posts

Just got back from our wedding at Dreams and it was fantastic! We used the gazebo and then had our private beach party reception on South Beach. It was absolutely perfect in every way. They are fantastic and I had nothing to worry about.

Yahhhhhh!!!

I know I've probably asked this before but I cannot find the answer when looking back..

Could anyone help me with determining the difference between North Beach & South Beach..

I remember hearing one of them was more 'secluded'

trying to determine where is the best location for our ceremony that is a little more private than the other.

South beach is on the side past Barracuda's bar. Not sure if this is the more secluded one but ti was definitely great for the reception. After seeing the pool deck receptions, I was so happy I decided not to do that. But it all depends if you want sand under your feet and privacy or not.

Silly question . .I am having my ceremony on the beach and reception on the pool deck. .any thoughts on what I should do for shoes? I was thinking I should just go barefoot for the ceremony . . since it will be 5 pm. .but not sure what to do for the reception. I don't want to get the dress hemmed for high heels and be barefoot for the ceremony. Thoughts?

Hey Ladies,

I got back from my wedding at DRC about two weeks ago and just posted a giant review:

http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/index.php?app=reviews&module=reviews&section=reviews&do=view&id=4326

Wedding was Jan 28 at 430 pm at the wedding gazebo, followed by 530 cocktail hour on the Desires Terrace, and 7-11 pm reception on the pool deck. Everything was literally perfect, stunning, and so relaxing - you will NOT be disappointed in your choice to get married here. I'm so sad my planning and big day are over - enjoy every minute!

Read your review.  Thanks so much!!!  Question for you...is the Desires Terrace by the Ballroom?  We've scheduled our cocktails on the terrace and reception in the Ballroom. Do you know the proximity of the two?

They are literally 15 steps from each other, couldn't be closer. There is a hallway with the disco (Desires) on the end, then the wedding office, then the ballrooms. Excellent selection!

Lindsayczach thank you so so so much for the review! It can be so stressful to plan a wedding with such little communication from the resort so a positive review makes me feel so great about everything, thank you! A couple questions for you:

1. Did you do any outside activities during your stay?

2. How was transportation to the airport?

3. How did you fly with your dress?

4. Was the ballroom well air conditioned?

5. Did you pay for the wedding with credit card or cash? Can you pay before you get to the resort?

If anyone has answers to these i would appreciate it.

Congratulations to everyone! (My wedding is 6/12/14, any other brides during that week?)

Hi Heidi!

Our wedding is 6/14/14! We will be there from the 10th! How exciting, we will probably meet there! :) How are your plans going?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
