I could of sworn I've read numerous ladies that were able to switch it out for credit. So frustrating if your having a lot of guests :/
Destination wedding was supposed to save us some money.

My wedding coordinator (who was switched 3X already) is now Claudia and she has informed me I can't switch it for any credit.

We changed ours out! We got a $520 credit to use towards our extra people over 20.

Hello everyone! I am so excited for my wedding in June 2014. Hope all of your planning is going well! Can anyone help me out and give me some info about having a reception at El Patio (or any of the other restaurants). What is the capacity limit and cost? I'm expecting between 60-100 guests. Thanks!!

Past brides who had their hair and make up done at the spa... What kind of make up do they use?  Did you bring your own?  Is it air brushed?  I am concerned about using crappy make up.  I use really good stuff at home but I'd hate to bring my own make up when I am getting it done for my wedding!!  It's kind of making me want to bring in someone from the outside...but I already made all of our spa appointments. Thoughts on this?
I used the spa and had reservations about the service quality as well. I am very fair and was concerned that they wouldn't have colors light enough for me - I'm glad I decided to bring my own stuff because they didn't! Overall they did a great job, I was just very picky about how they should use the products. The best decision I made regarding makeup was getting eyelash extensions before I left - they make such a difference in pictures and look great for about 2 weeks :)

The deck

Just confirmed my wedding at Dreams Riviera for August 2, 2014 Saturday!! We're booked for the gazebo at 5pm and then the deck at 8pm. I have a ton of questions so if anyone out there is reading, let me know! We actually had originally booked Now Jade for our wedding but decided to cancel it once we heard Dreams was a lot better.  I just received my budget planner and I love how organized it is, but hating the "total" cost up top :( Does anyone know if they preferred the beach location for reception? I've seen their pictures for it and it looks amazing, the deck.. not so much : I really wanted the pool terrace but it's not available on Saturdays.  Do we really need a cocktail hour? Couldn't our guests just venture to one of the nearby bars for drinks? Right now for 75 guests, it costs $1800. Did anyone order flowers from an outside vendor? $100/bridesmaid bouquets sounds ridiculous. Help!!
The deck is amazing! It's level with the beach, right behind the waterfall from the infinity pool. You get all the great ocean views without having to worry about dancing in the sand/ sand in your food.

Hi everyone,  We are getting married in one month whoo whoo! We are having our reception on the pool deck but have not requested to have more lighting (hanging paper lanterns, lights under the table, bamboo poles with hanging lanterns etc). Do you think they are necessary? will there be enough light without adding the extra lighting options? Thanks,  Emmy

Thanks faeriesxist83!! After researching some more and finding more photos of receptions held by the deck, it does really look amazing and I can't wait!!!

They will definitely still set up some lights if you don't purchase any extra.  They won't have you sitting in the dark!  They just charge extra for the fancy-looking decorative lights.  At our reception on  the beach we didn't pay for any extra lighting (other than the light-up dance floor), and they set up a bunch of light-post type fixtures that were actually quite cute (at no extra charge).  I imagine you might get something similar on the pool deck.  You can see them in this pic:

Thanks loripanori!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
