I was  thinking of some items in a welcome bag and making those favors. Iam  not 100% on that idea though.  I decided on no bridal party so that helped and made my life so much easier.  We  just have MOH and BM. We  have about 45-55 guests. We  chose beach ceremony 3:30 I think only south was available which I hear isnt as private but North beach wasn't available then 4-5 photos,  cocktail hour at Jacuzzi,  and 6:00 reception on pool  terrace? The  one infront of beach.  I forget which one is which since there are 2 pool locations.

What I was recommended to do to save money on centrepieces is to reuse the bridesmaids bouquets. I bought matching chargers and will get vases. As you only have an MoH may not work so well for you but is a thought.

Did anyone extend their reception? and if so, was it worth it to pay US$1701 for it?

Thank you,

And that price probably doesn't include the DJ either! Depending on what time your reception is, you could go to Desires afterwards. If it's after 10 there is music playing - just announce it as you are all leaving so all your guests no to go there. There's also the lobby bar for everyone to hang out afterwards. I wouldn't pay that much when there are 2 other places for everyone to go have drinks :)

They have vases there you can use! They put them out on our guest book table for us for all the bouquets without us asking and didn't charge us.

If you stick with bouquets out of the catalog they are very reasonably priced. Ours were $65 each and we only had to buy 3 because 2 of them were included with the ultimate package. They can change the colors of the flowers up if they don't match your color scheme - as long as they are the same flowers, it's the same price.

You can kind of see the vases in this pic...

cmi1205 ,Congratulations!!! I LOVE your pictures!! Who was your photographer?   It's exciting to see a reception in one of their ballrooms, my wedding is on June 14, 2014 and chose to have the reception in the ballroom because I want a more private wedding and want it to end after midnight.  Did you originally choose the ballroom or was it because of bad weather? Was the music from the Desires Bar next to the ballrooms a problem during your reception?  I have so many questions to ask you, I haven't seen many people using the ballroom, or coming from Houston! I'm currently living in Dallas but have most of my guests and family coming from Houston. Do you mind sharing info on your travel arrangements? Did you use a travel agency or did you do it through the resort?  Sorry for the long message I just REALLY got excited to see your pictures :) lol Thanks!!
Hi! I'm getting married at DRC on June 12th, 2014! So excited, we are using the ballroom too, but I don't want to spend too much on decorations! Right now I have reserved the gazebo for the ceremony because I don't want to be on the beach, but now I am concerned by the lack if privacy, where is your ceremony?

Oh no!! yes, alot of them did have lillies - I'm sure if you told them about the allergy they could do a flower that was equal in price!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
