Hello Ladies

Ive just got back from sunny Mexico... and everything was prefect! cheesy.gif

We flew with Virgin Atlantic from London Gatwick, apart from the flight being 11 hours it was really good. Open bar and touch screen entertainment system kept us busy.

Cancun airport was stress free and easy .... Transfer to the hotel as really good, we were offered drinks and snacks, not that we needed any after all the food we got on the plane.

Hotel ..

We booked a garden view room for 15 nights. When we arrived we were upgraded to the honeymoon suite!

Rooms, gardens, pools, beach, bars, resturants and staff are all amazing.

*Cookies in the lobby are really yummy*

Because we were upgraded meant we got to use the preferred club room and we got the honeymoon package!

The preferred club room was really good, computers, bar and snacks served during the day.

Honeymoon package included spa treatments.. they were REALLY good and a private dinner on the beach, this was also REALLY good.

We also had a massage included in the wedding package. We had this the day before the wedding. again this was really good.

The spa was beautiful and really relaxing.

Excursions.. We really enjoyed all of them. some of them we booked with Amstar. Trips to Coco Bongos, Cancun and Playa del Carmen we walked to the main road and got the local bus.

Xcaret

Dolphin Swim

Zip Lines and Jungle

Quad Bikes

Cenotes

Chitchen Itza

Snorkelling

Sailing

Sea Kayaking

Wedding Day!!!

Everything was prefect...i cant think of anything i would of changed or wish could of been different.

We had 35 guests, all stayed in a hotel in cancun.

The day before the wedding we asked the front desk if they had a room available for my husband to use (we got legally married and didnt want to see eachother till the ceremony) They gave him a ground floor room with a pluge pool, which i thought was really nice. He got to use that room till 4.30 on the wedding day.

My maid of honour and bridesmaid came to the hotel at 9.30...I showed them around the hotel and they loved it!

We all went to the spa at 11.00 for a manicure and pedicure.

12.00 hair and makeup.. this was REALLY BAD. I told them that my hair doesnt hold curls really well. They didnt leave my hair in the curlers.longer enough so they fell out after 1 hour. Also i have natural blonde hair and they only had brown hair slides and you could really see them.

I asked for my makeup to look really natural. When i looked in the mirror i looked like a drag queen! I had that much makeup on.

Luckly me and my bridesmaids found it really funny.

I asked the lady nicely (sorry i cant remember for name) to remove all the eyeshadow and lipstick, then it looked alot better.

Dont be put off, i just dont like to wear lots of makeup. There was another wedding group having there makeup done and they seemed to love all the eyeshadow.

3.00. Anel started taking pictures of the guys getting ready (Anel was amazing!)

3.30. Anel started taking pictures of me and the bridemaids

Gina came up with the flowers which were beauitful

4.30 Ceremony on the north beach. It was a beauitful day and wasnt windly

Then we took pictures on the beach and pictures around the resort..

6.00-7.00. Cocktail hour on the beach.

7.00-10.30. Reception in the Seaside Grill..

I loved our reception, it was so much fun!

I didnt pay for any lighting but they put up.over 20 white paper lights and we got the lightup dance floor for free!! i was so happy!

We had the bbq buffet which everyone really enjoyed and we had the vanilla wedding cake, that was really yummy!

Hope this review helps.. let me know if you have any questions about the wedding day, hotel or excursions.

Also i highly recommend getting legally married in Mexcio.. it was so easy and it made it so special getting married on that beauitful beach.

Hey Kelly.

Our wedding planner is Lorena and she is hard to get a hold of, we had our travel agent contact them and they told us to just stop by and they will show us around everything we are interested in seeing. We are staying at another Dreams resort when we are in May to and they have a special deal between all of them in the Mayan and the Now (AM Resort) where you can have dinner and see the entertainment so we are just going to pop in one day. Hopefully this helps :)

Hi, my coordinator is Lorena as well.  I've been emailing her the past three weeks and I haven't received a single response from her either. I might end up emailing the other coordinator to follow up.  Not replying for 3 weeks is pretty ridiculous.

Congrats! :) Which day in May? I am getting married May 3, 2014. How many guests are you expecting? I recommend the pool deck for reception...but that is just my personal preference! It's nice because you are right beside the beach but not actually in the sand. For cocktail hour I am not sure...my fiance and I are still trying to decide on that as well :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
