We just got back from DRC for our wedding that was on the 17th! There were quite a few mishaps, hiccups, etc, but overall the day was amazing and the wedding staff really knows what they're doing! I already have my wedding pics back from Anel and our DVD so I will share those once we are all settled back in, probably after the holiday!

Congratulations!  Can't wait to hear a about everything!  P.S. Loved your blog!

Hi brides and brides-to-be! We have been looking at this resort and we are just trying to make up our mind whether this resort is the one we will be getting married at! We have never been to Mexico and really wanted to do a little sight seeing by going to the Mayan Riviera. We have 2 small children and given that this resort is child friendly and looks beautiful on the website!

I was hoping to get some advice from anyone that would be able to help out please. I would like to be able to bring my own real touch/artificial flowers for my wedding party. I really want a particular bouquet and the flowers in it are rare en seasonal and I would really like to keep my bouquet which is my reason for wanting to do this.. Would that be an option? Am I allowed to bring any type of decorations for the wedding or does everything need to be a part of the package/upgrades etc?

Does anyone happen to have pricing for wedding packages for 2014? Has anyone stayed at this resort for their wedding that can tell me whether guests were all put in the same buildings/area of the resort? Any recommendations in terms of a honeymoon room? We are bringing both children so they will be staying with us for a few nights at least.. How is the care for children there? Is there lots to do for them? I just want to feel good about potentially leaving them with a care provider at times while we prepare for the wedding..

Thanks!

Hi 1Dutchie! Thanks and congratulations to you too! I haven't been to the resort. I do know that you can bring your own real touch/artificial flowers and you can bring your own decorations as well. I'm bringing my own chair sashes and napkins and there isn't a set-up fee for the sashes and napkins. I chose the Dreams Ultimate package which comes with 1 floral centerpiece. I will need 4 more centerpieces. I decided to upgrade my centerpiece and not choose from the options included in my package. I'm inquiring with the coordinator on whether I can have the florist make tall centerpieces, made out of a bundle of roses. I've been sending the coordinator pictures of things that I want personalized and having her give me a price quote on those things. I say all of this to let you know that they will do whatever you want and quote you a price or you can bring your decorations. I'm not sure how much the 2014 packages are but if you send them an email to [email protected], they should be able to help you. Prior to booking with them, I sent an email with my initial questions and one of the coordinators got back to me within 2-3 days. I hope this information was helpful!

Ok ladies!!!

Here is my slideshow!!

Once I get all of the pictures Anel took uploaded to facebook I will make it public and post the link for y'all to see everything. Seriously, this slideshow doesn't do everything justice! I will write a full review very very soon. I'm still overwhelmed with unpacking and getting everything back in order from the holidays!

I am planning on selling the table covers and chair sashes if teal is any of your colors. There are 40 chair sashes and 6 table overlays. If you are interested let me know and i'll let you know the price.

I also left all the pink lanterns at the resort because I didn't feel like wrapping them back up and packing them. So, if any of y'all are interested in using them, they are there for anyones use! There are 25 of them!

If you have any questions before I write my review just let me know :)

Oh, and just incase you were wondering why we ended up in the lobby and then a ballroom during the reception, it poured down rain right in the middle of the reception!! :(  Out of the 9 days we were there, that was the ONLY day it rained and according to the weather that morning it was 0% chance!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
