Yes.  We stayed eight days after our wedding at Dreams and ultimately ended up extending our stay and going next door to Excellence for two more nights.

Anel told us that we could come in to pick out pictures on the seventh day after the wedding.  We were able to pick our 150 photos then. The pictures were actually ready the night before, but we had already made plans.  The next day she asked us to come back to pick 80 out of the 150 photos for our photo book.  I explained to her that we were switching resorts and she said that she could send our choices in right then and the photobook would be printed and ready the following night. She was right . . .she had the photobook delivered to us at Excellence ready to go the very next night!

Very pretty! Im just wondering if you had to give them your final decision on the flowers before you got down there, or if you finalized them when you met with them a fw days before the wedding. Just trying to figure out if I have to decide now, or I can wait till I get down there. Its hard to imagine what exactly they will look like when you are changing things! I love your hair!! I am having a horrible time deciding between wearing it up or down. How did you decide? Did the salon at the hotel do it?
Rach0636- Yes, the salon did my hair. I took a few photos of the hairdo that I wanted and the spa did it identically. I had a lady name Victoria. She did an excellent job! I scheduled a trial session before the wedding just to make sure I liked the way she did my hair and makeup before the wedding. Like MCree said, take a lot of photos as examples and they will make your day perfect! MCree- you look stunning and I loved your set up as well! Congrats to you and your new hubby! :)

We were able to choose decor, flower and arrangement set-ups once there! I had heard from previous reviews that the florists they worked with were awesome, and I 100% agree.  I told them I wanted lilies, roses and any other tropical flower, and that I wanted pinks and whites with hints of yellow, and they nailed it!

Your beach set-up was beautiful! I am also getting married on the North Beach at the end of January and was wondering if you recommend the carpet down the aisle? I assume it would make it easier than walking in the sand?

The restaurants don't take reservations and because of the amount of people you have I would recommend going through the WC to secure a space for this many people, although it will cost you $15/pp to do so. I would say if you just try and go there with 25 people it won't be very likely to sit together or even for all of you to get in with other guests staying at the resort. I would say if you had around 10-12 it would be fine.  The restaurants and just like normal where you go and put your name down if there is a wait and these restaurants aren't huge. But I will say Portofino was my favorite restaurant of them all and then Bordeux. Good luck!

Thanks! Yes my co-orindator got back to me and said it's a first come first serve at the restaurants. I agree, it's highly unlikely that we'll all get seated together but I'm pretty sure I don't want to spend $15 pp just to reserve seats! I can't wrap my head around it because everyone has already paid an all inclusive price to be there. Which restuarant was bigger, Portofino or Bordeux?

Thank you! They carpet comes with the package.  Gina had informed me that they would be adding this with seashells on it free of charge during our meeting.  It adds the perfect little touch and makes it a little easier to walk.  I was in 3' wedges and my dress was long so anything to assist the walk was great!  :)

I was married at Dreams in August and was debating over the DJ as well.  We did not do a cocktail hour, but instead applied the the cost to our extra dinner guests (we had 25 people total).  We ended up gathering at one of the lounges for cocktail hour and then the Mexican trio came and played during the dinner.  Some of our guests ended up going to Desires lounge after the reception/dinner.  If you don't want the DJ, I would definitely suggest the Mexican trio and then just playing music in the background if you want during dinner.  You can always go to the nightclub after for dancing if you want!  Hope that is helpful!

Hey ladies!!!

We just got back from DRC for our wedding that was on the 17th! There were quite a few mishaps, hiccups, etc, but overall the day was amazing and the wedding staff really knows what they're doing! I already have my wedding pics back from Anel and our DVD so I will share those once we are all settled back in, probably after the holiday!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
