If they say that it still has to be 50 I would point out that you know of other brides that have had it for less than 50 people and ask if it's something new. Get an explanation. That's so weird that they wont let you have it.

I've found that's their main concern - that you're not selling stuff in Mexico and competing with local sellers.

That being said, it IS Mexico, so what Should happen isn't always guaranteed to actually happen........still, chances are in your favor, and if you remain polite + persistent in your position, you'll be fine :)

It'd be great if you let everyone here at the forum know how you make out clearing customs.......we'd all love to hear your story !

I am also using starfish for my placecards and the exact same guestbook! How did you arrange to have your guestbook set up with the rocks? Im just wondering if this is something i will have to go over with them before I get down there or not...

Also, can you tell me what size tablecloths you ordered? We are also having our reception on the pool deck as well! Thank you so much

Rach-

I think you will be fine with 3:30; however i didn't spend a ton of time taking pictures so the sunlight was just perfect. If you are worried and want to be 100% fine I would suggest 3pm. However, I'm not sure what time of year the sun switches back to setting not so early.

As far as the guestbook and escort cards I just gave Gina the stuff and asked her to set it up on a table for me, they are the ones who did the rocks and put the starfish in the little box container with sand for me. They are really good about setting up the reception perfectly and incorporating all of your things.

I rented the table cloths from the resort as I didn't want to travel with anymore then I had to.

Holy Moly! :) Are you using the lanterns as your centerpieces or just for extra light? Where did you get them? Do they take us a ton of room?

I thought that the hotel provided a sand ceremony set for us. Maybe im wrong. Are we supposed to bring our own cake cutter set and toasting flutes?

I gave my mom a bunch of stuff to put in their suitcases and to split between 4 people, but I think my fiance and I still have over $300 each!! I really hope they don't stop us!

Anyone who's already gotten married have any insight?

They never stopped us or his parents whom were carrying our stuff. I would just have your receipts and honestly you will be fine. It's going to be amazing!!!

This makes me feel so much better! I have been worried about the little details and if they are good about that stuff then that is very reassuring! Thank you :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
