Nope! At first, I was going to make the fan programs with just grandparents, parents, and wedding party names, a little in memory thing for lost family members, etc, but I'm burned out on DIY!! haha. I thought about all the weddings I've been to and if programs are really needed and I decided nope! That's one DIY I decided not to do!

I dont know if any of y'all have seen this yet, but I found this great thread here on this site regarding customs and getting your stuff to Mexico...

http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/41422/customs-in-mexico-an-effort-to-gather-the-info-in-one-thread

Luckily I've kept all my receipts (thanks to everyones help on this thread!) and now I'm making a excel spreadsheet with all our items we're bringing. Once we get everything divided by suitcases I'm going to print and highlight which items are in that suitcase and place it on the top so if they go through it, it's all right there!

Thank you guys for all of the info! I was glad to see some info on the wedding music! We had just been discussing it & you guys had some great ideas. I've got another question to throw out there... We are considering booking a private catamaran cruise for our guests that would take us out for 3-4 hours & provide cocktails & take us snorkeling. We have around 40 people. We have looked into a couple if different companies & we were trying to decide how big of a catamaran we would actually need. We are wondering if the 40 person catamaran would actually be too tight of a fit for everyone. Have any of the past brides done this? If so how was your experience & do you happen to remember charges or company recommendations? We really didn't want to book the typical tours where you are gone for most if the day, and we are trying to figure out if it is worth it to do it knowing transportation & everything has to be arranged also. Any input would be appreciated! Thanks- meg

A bride that got married in July did this. Her screen name on here is LindseyM I believe. She wrote a long review about everything. I'm sure you can go back some pages and find it and see if she mentioned the catamaran tour ( i think she does). Her wedding was in July so it shouldn't be too far back.

I think this is a great idea and wish we could coordinate something like this for everyone.

I have a question for any brides who have already been to the dreams about the booking of the rooms? I know when you book they tell you that what ever you request is not a quarantee but when you arrive is it pretty easy to upgrade your guests rooms & do they try & put the wedding party in one area of the hotel or are you all spread out? Any info would be very helpful, thanks

One thing I have learned from this site is that I am not playing any games! I feel like I have spent the last three months battling with the resort .. But here's the deal, it's my wedding and they will do what I want or I will go somewhere else! I have read so many conflicting posts about whether you can book seaside grill or not whether outside vendors are allowed or not .. Some brides are paying extra, some are booking rooms, some have purchased day passes, some have paid a 30% commission fee! I am not paying a thing. I told them what I want and who I am booking and got them to agree. Period. I will print all the emails and bring them with me and if they try and charge me a penny I will say absolutely not. Right now my latest and greatest drama is they are telling me I can not use the photo and video services included in the package for the trash the dress session. Who are they to tell me what I can have them take pictures of ?! I paid for one hour and I will not forfeit those services. I think my point is .. This is Mexico .. And I think it is important to be very direct with them and don't let them tell you what you can or can't do. It would be one thing if their policies were clearly stated and they followed them, I absolutely believe they have the right to call the shots .. But not when they are making exceptions and bending the rules left and right! It's obnoxious! And as much as I do not want to have to change resorts, we are nine months out and we will do what we have to do. My advice is to be aggressive with what you want and get the things that are important to you locked in up front. I am not taking any chances, and let me tell you it has been a battle, but so far I have gotten everything I want.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
