Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Kelly,

When I confirmed my date/time with Eva last month she told me a wedding coordinator would contact me 3 months prior to my wedding day to begin planning and finalize all details. You may want to try to contact her soon if you don't hear anything - even though I know that they are hard to reach.

T.W.O. months from today I will be a MRS! Absolutely can't wait but still have lots of little details to finish up. I was waffling about whether or not to do OOT bags but found what I was looking for at our local food co-op this weekend. :0) Have started gathering things a little here and there. I also work at a hospital and spoke to our pharmacist who can order all the little pharmacy items I am wanting for super cheap, yet another score. :0) Found cute shoes for flower girls at Target tonight and have little boy outfits almost complete. I figure if I get a few things checked off my list each week I will be good to go by November 13th (the day we fly to Denver)! So excited! Sorry for rambling, just can't contain myself. To all the people who have contributed to this forum, I can not thank you enough. I can't imagine planning a destination wedding without this. Truely invaluable!

For those of you who did the 3g promo I have a quick question, they say every 6th room is free, so is it you book 6 rooms, you get one free and then after the next 6 you get another room free. OR does the free room count as another room added to the total, so like for instance is it every 12 rooms you get 2 free, or every 14 rooms, because the 2 free don't count towards the room count ? i dont knwo if this makes sense. . .

my TA is trying to get us to not do the 3g, but will give us 2 free rooms if we use her system, however I want it to work out pretty equally. . . we have 11 rooms booked so far, so one of them will be our free room . . so does that bring us back down to 10 rooms and now after another 2 rooms are booked we get another free ? lol hard to explain but if anyone understands- please help me lol

From what I understand, its not actually free rooms that you receive with the 3g promo, but a dollar amount that you receive back on each 6th room.  So for instance,  if the majority of your group books tropical view dbl occupancy,  you(the bride and groom) would simply receive the price amount on this to put towards your room/wedding ONCE you arrive at the resort.  So, if you have 6 rooms booked, you get the price of the 6th room back in cash once you arrive and same is true  if you hit 12 rooms.  With the 3g, you also get a free upgrade depending on resort occupancy at the time for your 10th room! Rereading my mouthful above (lol), i just hope i didnt confuse you more!

Also... does anyone know how much they charge per additional guest... ???
For 2012 the price per additional person is $48+11%tax+15%service fee. That is the dinner price. Cocktail hour price is $26+11tax+15%service fee. Kid prices are age 0-5 free, 6-12 is half adult price and kids 13 and older pay adult price. Hope that helps. :0)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
