Lorena's response regarding question about Rehearsal Dinner:

The rehearsal dinner is necessary to review the availability close to the date, because is subject to the occupancy of the resort, if you want it private, is not a problem but when the people want it in a restaurant, we need to wait.

I am planning an All-White dinner, where I will be distributing our OOT bags and welcome brochures, so the dinner is a very important aspect in our DW. Has anyone had any issues with reserving a restaurant for your rehearsal/welcome dinner? Is this their "policy" or are they just trying to nickle-and-dime for everything?

P.S.

When did you all receive your first invoice???

Hey Ladies, I was wondering if any past brides could answer a few questions for me since Gina is not responding to my questions. 1. What type of alcohol do they serve at the reception? Brands/Type? Is it top shelf? 2. How much does it cost for guests to come over from another resort just for the wedding? 3. How many people did you put at a table? Gina told me up to 10 but I am not sure of the size to decide... Thanks guys :)
1. Its mostly call level liquor-There is absolute, stoli, 1800, jack 2. $55 per person-just for the wedding. $88 per person for the full. Provide Your WC the name of the guests and she will take care of it. We purchased 2 full day guests for 2 days for our best man and his wife and had no issues 3. 10. We had 10 at 2 tables and 9 at one table. Hope this helps:)

So guys can't wear shorts or flip flop at any of the restaurants? Can ladies wear shorts and flip flops?
Guys have to have sleeves, pants and shoes (it says sandal are ok....but my husband always wears slip ons to be safe) at Himitsu, Portofino and Bordeaux. I think it's suggested that women wear dresses. Shorts and flip flops (sleeves are still required for guys I think) are ok at Oceana, seaside grill, world cafe and el patio.

Great photos Lindsey! Thanks for sharing! Quick question for you...did it cost you extra to have your reception at the Seaside Grill? I love that spot and considering it for mine! Thanks!

No, it didn't...but I bugged them for MONTHS about it.  They kept saying, "We have to see if we can close it that night." and then finally, like the fifth time I asked, they said yes.

Thanks so much! That totally helps my guests keep asking me and I have no idea what they will be drinking! When your guest came for the entire day, did they give them a room to get ready in? Also, were kids the same price to get in?

Sorry for so many questions, my wedding coordinator is MIA and my wedding is in 2 months !

Great thanks! When I asked Eva if I could book it for my wedding, her reply was, "the seaside grill is already booked for your wedding"...and I'm still not sure if this means it's booked for MY wedding or booked during my wedding. So I asked her to confirm it for my wedding and she said "Yes, already booked." So anyways, I'm still not clear, lol! Ahhh lost in translation! And so I just emailed her again to see if it would cost extra, so hopefully that answer will clear it up for me! Thanks again!

They do not have a room to get ready in. However, it worked out perfectly for us because we had already "checked in" to the grooms room that was included in our wedding package. We let them get ready there the day of our rehearsal dinner. Then, the next day, the best man got ready with the groom and his wife came to my room and hung out with me and my girlfriends while I got ready. I'm not sure about the prices for kids day passes, I'm sorry.

Hahaha their written English is a little confusing but once down there, they speak it well.  I imagine you are booked for it though.  She would have said it was reserved for ANOTHER wedding.  I would think, anyway.

Yes hopefully!! It is more than a year away so I can't imagine it's already booked. Thanks for your help!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
