I'm curious... How many Save the Dates/Invitations dd you all send out? And how many of your guests actually booked and/or attended your wedding? My goal was to have a small intimate wedding but my mother is forcing me to send out STDs all of the "family". My guest list is now over 100 but I would really like to have no more than 50 people at our wedding. I 'm getting really nervous now. Is it bad to hope that not all of my guests will actually attend???

Hi Noelle:

At beginning everyone says yes, a very soon after the first payment they start dropping like flies. Make sure you communicate often If you are working with a travel agent and a payment plan for your guest. Be strict about your RSVP date. I am a month out and I still have people that have yet to said yes or no. I am talking very close people at that, granted I planned my wedding within 6 months. But for those brides who have a year of planning, you should stick to your guns and hold strong.

Hey Ladies,

I was wondering if any past brides could answer a few questions for me since Gina is not responding to my questions.

1. What type of alcohol do they serve at the reception? Brands/Type? Is it top shelf?

2. How much does it cost for guests to come over from another resort just for the wedding?

3. How many people did you put at a table? Gina told me up to 10 but I am not sure of the size to decide...

Thanks guys :)

I also wanted to have an intimate wedding but I think I sent out too many save the dates, i sent out 75 in total and most of them are for more than one person. HOWEVER, I sent them 6 months ago and now my wedding is 6 months away and believe me, people do drop like flies. 6 months ago I would have said 75 people were coming, today I estimate around 45 people. Now that its time to start booking and people hear the cost, everything changes!!! The only mistake i think i made was some people i didnt really care to come, i sent the save the date too and they might actually come. ( its no biggie, i just didnt expect them to come ) so im actually worried that my wedding crowd will be wierd.. mostly close people & some people i wouldnt have expected to be there at all but i jsut sent the save the date to be nice lol either way i guess it will all work out!

Don't feel bad.. i feel the same way lol

Hi Ladies! I have a question for those of you who did the symbolic wedding. Is there an issue with using our own wedding officiant? We would like my FI's brother to officiate but want to make sure it is ok before we ask him. Also, what are some recommendations for reception spots? I would prefer somewhere other than the beach. Thanks!

Great photos Lindsey! Thanks for sharing! Quick question for you...did it cost you extra to have your reception at the Seaside Grill? I love that spot and considering it for mine! Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
