Thank you... i guess im easy to find my pictures are almost the same lol anyway i just STALKED your fb page like a total creep... I think we are neighbors- lol

you looked amazing.. your pics are beautiful & your wedding looked like a great time.. you got me psyched!!! I am having my reception on the deck but i loved the way yours looked on the sand... When i was there I only saw them on the pool deck so I couldn't picture it on the sand but now that I seen yours I might even make the switch.

Congrats again and thanx for answering all of my questions!! i am sure I will think of more.

Okay I am going to take everyone's word for it that the pic i posted is desire's terrace lol i am positive that i seen something else called Desire's terrace and that it was not as open-air as whats in that picture, but maybe there are two different areas and I just never seen that one..

anyway I am trying to work out my budget and just get an overall idea on what i am spending and its impossible with no emails back. i am trying to stay as calm as possible since i do have a while, but i do think in the beginning they should answer all of our questions, then they can ignore us for a while lol i dont mind if my coordinator doesn't bother with me for a while but at least answer my initial questions so that I can do the rest... i dunno thats just my opinion!!!! if not for this forum I would be LOST. or dreams could easily make a better catalog and put prices next to the pictures and things like that so that we can all download it and have so many less questions anyway. lol ok im just venting because so far i cant tell if what im expecting is gong to cost me 10k or 30k lol

i also confirmed certain dinner options with Yamina, that I am waiting for Lorena to confirm before I send out my invitations, which I wanted to send out sometime in August, but its already the end of July and she hasn't responded to my e-mail asking her to confirm this. I cannot put the menu options on my response cards and then find out that DRC changed their minds lol

Okay.... im done venting lol

Ok girls as you can see when I first get to work I am bored... the video below, if I posted the link right is a girl doing a tour and it shows Desire's Terrace.... to me it looks nothing liek the picture I posted. In the picture it lookes round, like it has couches all around, and does not have a roof- in the video which is the way I remembered it, there are poles, a roof, and no couches around. Are they 2 diff. areas ? If the link doesn't work you can youtube " dreams riviera cancun 10"... they are great videos of the resort ( i believe the bride was on here- thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! )

the reason I am being so crazy with this is because I love the picture I posted and want my cocktail hr there but I don't want to say Desire's Terrace and get there and it looks totally different.. hmm ...

Hi Ladies,

I just returned home the other day from my wedding.  I have to say everything was amazing!!  I can't wait to share my photos with you!

First- we had no troubles with customs.  We were prepared with our receipts, but didn't get checked.  We brought sand dollars, bags, chocolates and popcorn for each guest.  No problems.

When we got to Dreams, we were brought to the Preferred Club to check in.  It was easy.  Everyone is so friendly and they bend over backwards to help you with what you need.

Our room was amazing!!  They upgraded us to a Ocean front suite- a corner room right on the ocean!  We were so excited when we got there to see the views!  They were stunning!!

We met our entire group back in the lobby after checking in so we could give them their OOT bags.  They had a hand-written letter to each person, popcorn and chocolates from our hometowns and the wedding program.  They all loved them.  We got the bags at Wedding Chicks for $5 each and they were customized with our names and date.  The bags were great because everyone used them for taking their things to the beach.  Plus we could always find people's seats because they were different than everyone elses.

We met with Gina, who is amazing!!  She is so nice and we went through all the details, made any changes, picked colors for things and went over the charges.  She is amazing to work with!!  They are all so busy, so don't worry if you dont' hear back from them right away.  She had everything organized and was great!

We had a rehearsal with everyone and Gina showed the group what to do.  That was really helpful, especially since we had kids in the wedding as ring bearer and flower girls.

The day of the wedding was actually really relaxing!  At 2 we went to the spa to get our hair done.  If you don't know what you want done, they have books with pictures that you can choose from.  Ana did my hair and make-up and she did an excellent job!  It took about 1.5 hours.  My husband took a lot of photos of this, since the photographer didn't start yet.  It was a lot of fun!

After the spa we had about 2 hours before the wedding started.  At 5:00, Anel came to where my husband was getting ready with his and my dad to take photos and then she came to my room to photograph me getting ready.  There's no need to get ready too early because its hot to wear your dress for a long time!

About 10 minutes to 6, Gina came to get me in my room and walked me over to where we line up.  Lots of people were watching the wedding from the pool and taking photos.  When my dad and I started to walk down they all started cheering!

The ceremony was good.  We had a male minister, who kind of messed up a lot.  I wouldn't recommend him.  We did the sand ceremony combining sand from the beach with Lake Michigan and my lake house sand.  That was really nice and everyone really liked that.

After the ceremony we all grouped together to wave to the hotel webcam because we had a lot of friends watching from home!  They actually saw us waving!  Some of our friends took screen shots from the webcam and emailed them to us!  THey were cool!

We took group photos by the gazebo and then by the beach.  Its hard to walk in the sand with heals though!  Luckily I had wedges on so it wasn't too bad!  The photos of the different families went fast.  Anel did an amazing job an is so friendly.  She's great with adults and kids.  Then our family went to the cocktail hour and we had some more photos of just the two of us.  They turned out awesome!

The cocktail hour had the mariachi trio, who was really good.  Everyone had a really fun time dancing with them!  The appetizers were amazing!  Shrimp satay, quiche, beef roll, melon balls and something else.  They all were good!

Dinner started at 8.  The table looked great!  We brought our own chair bows that we got from EBay for really cheap.  They put those on for free.  Then we had a sand dollar with each person's name and the date on it for their place card.  We put that on a cocktail napkin that we brought in the same color as the ink.  It looked great and everyone really was surprised at those!  The flowers from the gazebo were put on the table and I had brought battery candles.  It looked really pretty!  They provide lighting, but its really dark during dinner, so you may want to think about adding more lighting.  The photos came out a little dark.

We had a cousin introduce us and we had our first dance.  Then dinner started, which was so good!  We were able to pick between chicken and beef and both were delicious!!

After dinner we had the father-daughter dance and the mother-son dance, then we started the party.  Dinner took until 10 and the entire party ended at 11.  After that we went to the nightclub.  We all had such a fun time!  Many people recognized us for a couple days after and said how much fun it looked like we were having and they wanted to join in!!

Overall, everything was amazing!  Don't stress, be really organized and it will be perfect!  We are so happy we chose to come to Dreams for our wedding!  It was so perfect!

Let me know if you have questions that I can help with!!

Do you have any pictures of your reception and cocktail on the beach? Was it really windy?

Really considering moving my reception onto the beach.

Not of the cocktail hour, but yes of the recpetion. If you send me your name I'll friend you on FB so you can see my full album. It was windy but in a good way. I loved having it on the beach bc I felt like if everyone is coming to Mexico that's part of the destination wedding to be on the beach. Everyone loved it. I saw some weddings on the pool deck which is also really nice. I just wanted no shoes, sand and ocean brezze.

Hi ladies!!!

I was wondering if anyone will do/has done a seated dinner for your wedding?? If so, which dinner option did you chose?? Are we allowed to chose from all three dinner options (silver, gold and ultimate)?

I am having approximately 40 guests and I will really like to have a seated dinner. I think I read that as long as you give your WC the options for each of your guests a month in advance it can be done. If that is the case, I am going to include the options in our RSVP cards.

Also, if anyone has ALL of the Dinner menus, can you please send them to me? For some reason Lorena only sent me the Gold Menu for Ultimate Package and the Silver Menu for Love Package. My email is [email protected]. Thanks

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
