Thanks girls!!!  All the decorations are packed for the most part.  We will pack our clothes tomorrow when all of the laundry is done.  I am very nervous about customs and our extra suit cases.  We're bringing a whole bunch of toiletries in our "hang over kits", towels, sunglasses, and then the bags themselves.  I have invoices for all of these things but I am still afraid they will take them.  I am worried about declaring more than $300.  If I do, will the invoice save me from taxes?  I am preparing myself to have customs be awful.  Cross your fingers for me!

In other news, Kevin and I got married at the courthouse yesterday.  It is thrilling to get married no matter where you do it!  We can't believe we're married!!  But we didn't exchange rings or anything yet.  Saving that for Mexico.  :)

Congrats! EVERYTHING will be perfect!!! We got back from our honeymoon last week. We were at dreams from June 27-July 2 and we'd on the 30th. We will post a review within the next few days. Overall it was perfect beyond our expectations. Weather was PERFECT all week and our guests were thrilled!!! Special thanks to GINA who insured that everything went according to plan, her assistant JORGE who went above and beyond with his assistance, ANEL ( who was EXTREMELY amazing and creative with her shots) LINDA who helped make our ceremony perfect!!! Our DJ EDGAR CARDOSO and his MC FERNANDO for their amazing entertainment and MIKE CANTARELL for an extraordinary job in capturing all the great moments on video! Also, a shout out and special thanks to our photo booth assistant, "LA FOTOGRAFA" (lol) and to the amazing WAIT STAFF for pleasing us and all of our guests. Also, the DREAMS VIDEOGRAPHER from bluechannel was very cool. We had him for the last our of reception so that he wouldn't be in the way of our main videographer and we did receive that video and are pleased to say it was better than we expected. The champagne flutes also look great. We received them this week!! THE ENTIRE wedding staff was AMAZING...can't thank them enough!!!! As for CONCIERGE AND FRONT DESK - HORRIBLE!!!! (atleast for US they were the very WORST!!!) We will give extensive review soon but basically we organized paradise catamAran for thank you to guests and the concierge WOULD NOT let them enter to pick us up. Same with our cocobongo trip. On 2 consecutive days we were nearly 2 hours late to both And ended up losing 2 hours of our catamaran trip thanks to them. But paradise catamaran was amazing and compensated beyond our imagination. Highly recommend them!!!! So future couples just be careful. We will have more details on this nightmare in our review. That was the most disappointing thing about our trip. Also we ended up paying 30 dollars to customs for "taxes" since we had so many things that weren't considered "personal items" - yes that would be decorations! But rest assured that your weddings will work out better than you could have imagined. We are still waiting on pics and video... Slideshow should be available soon! Congrats to everyone! Lindsey it will all work out wonderfully...

Hi Ginaf1987,

We had a blast, Dreams does not disappoint, that's for sure. For the TTD session Anel suggested taking us to Puerto Merelos, which is a small town maybe about a 10 minute Drive from Dreams.

Aimee,

Where did you get your "trash the dress" dress? I love it!

One more full day before we leave!!!  Tomorrow my family is coming to stay with us.  I am getting my mani/pedi and have a family sleepover!  Then we leave at 3:45 in the morning on Tuesday!!!!  Everything is packed and ready except my make up and I cannot freaking wait!!!!

I will say, last night, after doing some customs research, fiance and I took apart all of our packed wedding supply luggage.  We photocopied invoices and divided up each suit case to make sure it's not more than $300 worth of supply.  We highlighted the things in each suitcase and the cost.  We also created itemized lists.  I read some horror stories so we wanted each suitcase to be black and white, clear as day.  I'm not sure if we needed to go through all of that trouble but I will take pics for anyone who wants to see it when we get to the hotel.

We're bringing our lap top because we need to communicate with some business back home.  Probably will not be near the computer tomorrow. I will try and update from the resort!  Talk to you ladies when we get back!!!

PS - two of our guests arrived today because they extended their stay.  The said it's AMAZING!!!

Past  Brides:

For ceremony that are in the beach, once you finish the walk do you stay in the sand. Meaning is you feet in sand or is the rug there. I am trying to figure out if my heels are going to sink in the sand and my feet are going to uncomfortable with sand. what shoes is everyone wearing for the beach ceremony.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
