Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Yamina told me I could choose whatever ones we wanted. I don't think it mattered hot vs. cold. The same with our dinner options. She let us mix & match between different menus. Very flexible :)

I bought my sister a MOH pool cover up when I asked her to be my MOH-it's like a little tube dress that says Maid of Honor on it. I just so happened to have a white one. I imagine I'll just wear that. Or a short white robe that one of my GFs got me.

I really like the idea of the oversized mens monogrammed shirts but the price tag is stopping me.

I'm trying to think of our timeline and see if the photographer will even get any pics of us getting ready.

And speaking of timeline...

Can any of you share your timelines for the day of?

Our ceremony is at 3:30 and the photographer is starting at 2. I have no idea how to plan the day out!!

I do not know from personal experience, but I've read many reviews on this forum and on Trip Advisor that say it is hard to sit together as a large group (over 4-6 people). The Dreams website do not say that they do not take reservations, but it does say "no reservations required".

We opted to spend the money on a reservation for a rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding. We will have 20 people at Himitsu (Asian restaurant). I'm not thrilled about paying for a reservation at an all-inclusive, but it is what it is and our families are so spread out around the country and they have never met so we wanted to have a big family dinner alone.

Hey everyone!! I was married at Dreams Riviera Cancun on June 18th! All I have to say is that everything was amazing and I can't stop thinking about how beautiful the entire wedding/trip was!!! Please do not worry brides--everything gets straightened out when you arrive at the resort and meet with your coordinator. My coordinator was Gina, she was awesome and did everything the way we wanted. I will be back to put more of a step-by-step review, but for now--enjoy wedding planning!! Here is the link to our slideshow--we also had Anel, she did a great job! She was from adventurephotos from the resort.

The restaurants do NOT take reservations....however if you plan on dining with a large group prepare to wait.  My experience below:

Sunday Night (The first night) -  We had 11 people including ourselves...we ate at Himitsu......we only waited about 30 minutes....service was great!

Monday Night - 18 of us....we wanted to dine together as it was my hubby's  birthday - Portofino....VERY LONG wait....service..so-so

Wednesday Night - Wedding Reception - All 21 of us....at Bordeaux....(wine room - I will tell more about that in my review)...service was Awesome! (we had paid for reservations here).

Tips...

1.pack your patience....they will accomodate a large group but you may have to wait.

2. A smile and a small tip to the host goes a long way.....

Hope this helps!

Good Luck!!!

Have a blast!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
