Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Recommended Posts

We are doing our Cocktail Hour in the Desires Lounge. It's probably going to be super hot (August 4th) so we wanted to get everyone in the air conditioning for a little bit. If I wasn't doing that though, I think I would go with the Jacuzzi. I read some nice things on here about it and it seems like a great setting.

Ceremony at 5:00 @ Gazebo

Cocktail Hour at 7:00 @ Either Jacuzzi or Ocean Front Pool Deck

Dinner Reception at 8:00 @ Ocean Front Pool Deck

Hmmm...

Has anyone getting married soon done a timeline for you photogrpahers for the "getting ready" portion of the photos?

We are not purchasing a 2nd photographer, so I was wondering how I should go about getting ready:

Should we have the photographers come to my room first to do pics of me and the girls getting ready and dressed, etc, then have the photographer go to the grooms room?

or should we do it the other way around where the photographer goes to the groom first, then comes to me, then we go to the ceremony? <-- i think that might be the best bet, but i'm not too sure and I just wanted to know how other couples did it or were planning to do it.

i'm also thinking about moving everything back one hour! hahaha i'm going to ask Anel for advice on that I think.

Make sure that what ever you give your family members to carry that you provide them with all the receipts. Anything over 300.00 per person they will charge you tax.

So the receipt must match what that person is caring.

If you are checked, which they can see you coming a mile away with your wedding gown and extra luggage, they will pull you over and go through most of the time.

You need all the receipts except clothing.

Only 300.00 per person or they will tax you to bring that into their country.

We are planning to give some to mother of the bride, mother of the groom , dads, maids of honour, but remember you need to give them the receipts .

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
