Im getting married nov. 3 and I was wondering where everyone got their hair sashes. Also has anyone used the hotels cord to hang paper lanterns? Lastly what did everyone do for OOT guest bags? I'm on the fence about them.

I got chair bows on eBay. They were really cheap and came in lots of colors. I got my bags at Wedding Chicks. They are custom printed and are $5 each. We're putting a card for each person, an itinerary, popcorn from our favorite place and chocolates from my hometown. We're trying to keep it simple instead of bringing a ton of stuff to put in them. Hope that helps!!

I would check out www.weddinglinensdirect.com for chair linens... they have some great deals and a varied selection.  I am also debating (yet leaning towards) OOT bags.  There are alot of great ideas in the multiple forums on this site.  I especially like the "hangover kit" but it may just be b/c I have some wild friends :) Good luck!

Hi Tammy, I picked Feb 22nd as my date and I was wondering if you had any insight on February... its actually much more expensive than i thought it would be. I thought from march on prices would pick up, but that weekend is VERY high (eve though the holiday weekend is the weekend before ). I also read that February is very dry and rainfail is not likely to occur, thats why we chose that month but now i am starting to hear different..... ive been to mexico in january and the weather was perfect except for the sun setting a little too early for my liking, but otherwise it was amazing,,, so i was expecting the same for February... did i make a mistake !?!??!

I get married in 3 weeks!!!!!  I can't even believe how fast it has come!  I feel so blessed to have had this board to bounce things off of all year.  We've been engaged for a year today!

For our OOT bags we went a bit overboard:

- We ordered personalized canvas beach bags for the couples & personalized black book bags for the single guys

- In each bag is 1 or 2 towels depending who it is for

- 1 or 2 pairs of sunglasses that we ordered wholesale online.  They come in awesome colors.

- We ordered biodegradable sunscreen in bulk online because it is required for snorkeling down there and it is SO EXPENSIVE.  We bought little bottles and had personal labels made that show "Lindsey & Kevin's Biodegradable Sunscreen"

- We ordered door signs for the hotel room that say "Do Not Disturb, Partied all night at Lindsey & Kevin's wedding!"

- We have hangover/medicine kits with tums, advil, aloe, bandaids, mentos, chapstick in them.  I am thinking of adding some hand sanitizer or something else to them, but I will decide tomorrow once I put them all together.  We are putting them in these zipper plastic pouches that we also ordered online in bulk.

- We have personalized water bottle labels so we will collect water bottles from all over the resort and put 1 or 2 in each bag.

- Welcome letter, itinerary, rehearsal dinner invitation [if applicable]

I think that is it!  Over all our bags cost about $500-700.  I am not sure of the exactly numbers.

I hope I helped!!

I went to a wedding at Dreams Tulum last year and the couple had the Mariachi Trio at their Cocktail Hour. They were great! Granted, it's not the same trio that DRC will have but we really enjoyed it. It was pretty much, the ONE thing my fiance insisted on. They were cute and funny and played some songs we knew too!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
