We wanted to make sure we would be guaranteed a big table to ourselves, rather than showing up early together and hoping for the best. I told her we did not need a private room or anything (that is $35/pp).

This is what I asked Yamina and her response is below that:

We would like to pick the location for our Rehearsal Dinner (8/2/12 @ 6:00pm). What are our restaurant options to accommodate a table for 20 people? Will it be a pre-set menu? or will we be ordering off the regular menu?

For 20 people, you can order from the menu. You can have this dinner on the terrace of the Oceana Restaurant (seafood) or, in the terrace of the Himitsu Restaurant (Asian). Let me know what do you prefer

You have the same issue we do. Fiance and I live in Houston, My family lives in Dallas area and all of his family is in New York and South Carolina. Our parents met and that's it. That's why I'd really like to do a dinner. I'm going to talk to my fiance's parents about it.

So is El Patio not an option? I'd like to do ours there!!

I don't believe you have to reserve so far in advance. You can always shoot your WC an email that you will be interested but I am pretty sure you can work it out when you get there... That's what I am doing. Also, you can ask past brides what the best restaurant for your group might be. I got the idea of having our welcome dinner at Portofino's from a past bride (http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/73522/janines-drc-mexico-wedding-planning-thread-pic-heavy-pages-1-7-are-the-thread-11-11-10/30).

I am also the Ultimate package photography at the rehearsal dinner. My WC Lorena made it clear that if I don't use the video/photography I lose it =(

Are you using Adventure Photography for the wedding? if so, you can use that extra 30 minutes the day of the wedding if you don't want it at the rehearsal.

Question about the DRC wedding coordinator. I see that many of you talk about a lady named Yamina, however I have been corresponding with a lady named Evangelina....Is there more than 1 wedding coordinator?

Thanks :-)

Yup. I don't think Evangelina is an actual coordinator. I think she is the head person you set everything up with. I had been in contact with her for several months and then just last month she "introduced" me to my new coordinator, Lorena. So I think Yamina and Lorena are the 2 actual coordinators who you do all your final arrangements with. Atleast that's what I've gathered from reading this board.

does anyone know what the pool deck offers for an entrance way?

I'm talking about when we introduce our bridal party, and ourselves for the first time... is there a walk way area or an entrance to the deck?

everyone knows thats the most fun part!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
