We went with DJ Mauricio Neri and he was awesome! He also did our music for the ceremony.  We met with him on Thursday afternoon and we gave him a list of songs for the ceremony and he also took good notes on his computer.  We also have him a list of songs we wanted to play at the reception and then just told him to play similar music when that list ran out.

The two nights before our wedding it rained so at 3 on our wedding day Yamina came in and asked if we wanted to move the reception to the ballroom.  I couldnâ€t decide because I didnâ€t want to move it inside but I also didnâ€t want it to rain.  I told her to go ask Luke (my husband) and that he could make the final decision.  He wanted it outside so we decided to keep it outside.  I am so happy that we did because the weather was perfect.  It was windy but it didnâ€t rain.  The following 3 nights the weather wasnâ€t good so we got really lucky!

The service at the resort was amazing and we originally booked the honeymoon suite and they upgraded us to the Master suite which was awesome.  Here is my slideshow.

Also, if anyone is interested, my husband condensed our wedding video so he could put it on facebook and show it to our friends and family so here is the link to that.

The first part of the video is a little cheesy because it is a generic but the rest of it is great.  The first song that they are playing (when everyone is first getting there)we didnâ€t pick but the rest of the songs  are the songs that we picked during the times that they played them.  The video was just running a little slow on my computer but it might be my internet connection.  The actual video runs smooth.

If you have any questions let me know!!

Thank you so much for posting this!! You looked gorgeous!!! How much extra did you have to pay for the DJ to do the ceremony for you?

Yeah I know!! We wanted to have some sort of welcome thing but I just don't wanna pay per person when it's an all inclusive! I was thinking about having everyone gather for welcome cocktails at the lobby bar instead. And then everyone can go to one of the restaurants and we can sort of sit together in the same area, maybe not at the same table. I don't want like a special menu or any special service. I would just like all of us to have a table together. I've heard if you get there right when it opens and tip the guy at the door they'll work something out, but I hate to just play it by ear like that.

With big groups its hard to get seating altogether and all at the same time. Definatly get there right when it opens. I would suggest Portofino (Italian) or El Patio (Mexican) they are the best laid out restuarants for big groups. Unless you want to do a buffet at World Cafe, then you can definatly get everyone in the same area all together and since its buffet everyone can eat at the same time.

After our rehersal dinner, we want all of our guests to gather at one of the bars for a "Meet & Greet". Any suggestions on what bar would be good for about 30-34 people? I was going to do the Lobby Bar, but I figureed I would ask here for some insight.

Thanks!

Well theres pros and cons to each.

Lobby Bar - in the evening due to events will be PACKED and therefore little seating and the bar only seats about 10. Its hard to get a drink and if its busy they sometimes mess up the drinks. However, since there is entertainment usually in the lobby or the steps of the lobby that is something else to entertain your guests. The lobby bar is also not in an enclosed building so it will be hot.

Desires Bar - Its air conditioned, actually pretty cold unless your dancing. Theres a good size bar and plenty or table our couch seating. The dance floor is good and they have screens for the music videos to play on. Since it is a bar the music is loud and sometimes outdated, but the DJ takes requests. Its a good place if you have a group that likes to dance ! Depending on the other guests staying at the resort the bar could have a crowd or not. I was there for 2  weeks and the first week of people at the resort weren't really bar people and the second week of people the bar was always full.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
