What is the best way to travel with the wedding dress. Does everyone just folds it in the suitecase.

I am carrying it on.  Everyone says do not check it in the baggage in case it gets lost.

Does anyone have any opinion on booking a preferred club room versus the regular rooms? It's quite a difference in price and im just trying to figure out if it is worth it or not? Thanks!

We booked a regular ocean view room but I'm kind of regretting it now after hearing the rave reviews of the preferred club on here. Our travel agent has promised to do everything to get us upgraded though so *hopefully* we'll end up in the honeymoon suite or at least a regular preferred room!

absolutely carry it on in a garment bag. I've heard that they will let you hang it up in the flight attendants closet.

Also, how about the need for a DJ or not?!

we are having the DJ. I know it's expensive but in my opinion after I pay to put all the songs we want on my iPod, it'll be almost the same amount and ALOT less hassle just to hire the DJ!

Does anyone know how far in advance we have to tell the hotel how many guests we'll be having at the ceremony/reception? Or do we just tell them when we get there?

We're fixing to order invitations and wanted suggestions on RSVP date! :)

Yes I used the sound system. It was nice to hear my entrance music way before the guests saw me. It also helped hear the officiant on such a windy day and with the sounds of people around. I would definatly recommend it. All the ceremonies that I saw at the Gazebo had the sound system I'm not sure if all the beach ones had a sound system though

Our Wedding is August 4th.

We sent out our Invitations in February (i think...maybe it was March). We had already told all our close friends and family about the wedding, though so they could plan/save accordingly.

We asked everyone to RSVP by May 1st.

We waited a few extra days for late RSVP and emailed friends and family that hadn't replied just to make sure they were not coming.

Then we emailed Yamina and gave her the fianl head count by the 2nd week of May.

Hope this helped.:)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
