Yeah...we have those with the picture guest book.  Take one for yourself and one for the book and then you can put it in the little photo corners and write something under it.

I just feel like I want some more special things at the recpetion and I'm drawing a blank:(

I have seen on Four Weddings the questionnaire where the bride and groom sit back to back and someone asks them questions like

"who said I love you first?" or "who wears the pants in the relationship?" and so on

Gir, you and I would ahve the same ind of wedding I be!  I love games--my Mom calls me Julie the cruise director (from Love Boat from the 80's LOL) because I always want little directed games and stuff happening.

Some of the ideas I have had:

1. Some kind of scavenger hunt/ musical chair scavenger hunt.  Like everyone sits in a chair and then you say go find a lipgloss--then you take like 4 chairs away and whoever gets back first gets through that round...not sure about this one but I read something similar.

2. Some kind of "mad lib" where we have something on the tables asking for words (noun, verb etc) and then we incert them into a pre written speach we have for our guests.  i.e.  We are so _____ that you came to our wedding.  And so someone would have written down and emotion like "angry" and we would insert them as we go...again not 100% sure of the details but thought it could be fun.

3. FI thought of some kind of "team" game where we had questions about us as a couple or something and the table who knows the most wins but it will be so unfiar with a wedding party table, a parents table and a cousing/others table so kinda scrapped that.  I do, however like the idea of a trivia type thing.

4. Maybe some kind of station like the photo station but with some other kind of activity on it.

5. Hide some things like under tha chair or under a plate and then whoever the winner is gets a prize?  Maybe just a little cheezy.

6. Cigar roller--though I am still waiting to find out how much this is...i think it would add a nice ambiance and the groomsmen and my FI would love it.

Sooo.....thats where I am at.  Any ideas you have had?  Maybe we can help build off of eachother and come up with some cool stuff!!  I'm super open so everyoe spill your ideas:):):)

I love the mad lib idea and saved some examples so I can make my own and print them off on nice card stock.

Haha some of your other ideas a pretty creative just maybe might not work for a destination wedding :(

I did want something like a cigar roller or fire dancer (seen it in some brides photos) but at this point not prepared to pay whatever ridiculous price it is. Like any outside vendor you would probably have to pay for a room for them or something like that.

I also wanted to put photos of mike and I as kids in black and white, or sepia on the tables in nice frames. This wouldn't work for us becuase its too obvious, but if you have people guess who was which kid. You know those photos when your little where you could either be a little boy or girl lol. And I think just photos on the tables adds a little bit of a conversation piece.

Hmm but I think I will need to put more  thought and research into finding some good, not so cheesey games. and I'll keep you posted

Hello!

I didnt want to spend alot of money on centrepieces either.

My centrepieces will be a mirror plate with LED pillar candles and silk rose buds in the centre of the plate. Very simple and cheap!

I'm planning on taking the LED candles back home with me :)

See I guess I was worried that the 3 hours included in the reception wouldn't be long enough for; dinner, cake cutting, first dances, speeches, bouquet toss, dancing (can't forget) etc traditional things.  So I guess I never even thought about adding something like a game!  I think I am so nervous about the 3 hours... I actually added an hour on.  On a side note, I attended a wedding that had stuff taped to the bottom of chairs and if it was your chair, you won something!  It was kinda fun!  Good luck!  Let me know what you guys decide!

Anyway....just sharing an idea with you to help you:)  If you back though this thread quite a few brides bring stuff with them to construct.

Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
