Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

When my fiance and I were down there we used Traffic Tours... It might be spelled Trafic Tours.  In the hotel lobby there are plenty of tour groups to help you book excursions.

Past brides who had their hair and make up done at the spa...

What kind of make up do they use?  Did you bring your own?  Is it air brushed?  I am concerned about using crappy make up.  I use really good stuff at home but I'd hate to bring my own make up when I am getting it done for my wedding!!  It's kind of making me want to bring in someone from the outside...but I already made all of our spa appointments.

Thoughts on this?

It was recently brought to my attention from my future mother in law. That we arrive in Mexico on Monday and we are getting married on Thursday. It says on the site 4 business days, does this include the day we arrive? Because if not then the TA has failed me and the wedding coordinator who has not caught this mistake for about 7 months. Especially if there are already 2 weddings the day after.

I also panicked and contacted my TA, and he contacted the resort...they said everything is okay - it says 4 days on their website because they want to allow enough time in the event of any travel delays and to make sure you have enough time to meet with the WC at the resort.

Even had Evangelina confirm in writing - she said:

According to our conversation phone , I confirm our mutual client can travel and get here on 14th and they can get marry on 17th, 2012… There is enough time to can have the meeting with their wedding coordinator..

That's a great idea. I can stress a little less now. Gina takes forever lately to reply to me so even when I do send her an email about this it will take about a week or more to get back to me.

I would make sure you have it in writing from the resort your date and time booked and locations for each part.  They have gone through many different wedding planners and have misplaced many things.... I am not the first one that they confirmed and when re-confirming they said I wasn't confirmed and then I was again but not for the pool deck (originally booked for reception).... many, many mistakes on their part!  My only advice... get it all in writing!!!  Thank goodness for my TA!!!

I think we are just going to book when we get to there.

I've been looking on the interent to see what excursions are available, so we know what to ask for when we get there

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
