Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

I'm really confused on this DJ thing...

I was told by Eva just a few weeks ago that there is only 1 DJ that the hotel allows and it's Visual Sound. But you're not the first person who has said there is another.

I'm getting really frustrated with the hotel. I've emailed Eva 3 times in the past month and haven't heard anything. I know she's busy, but still. Oh well, I know it gets better the closer you get.

And this whole everyone gets different answers thing is just really frustrating.

what DJ has anyone here used, and what were your thoughts?

AVI or VISUALSOUND are our only two options and I'm trying to nail down the details....

CONGRATULATIONS !!!!

Your whole wedding looked amazing. We have now definitely decided on the Seaside Grill for our reception after watching your slide show.

Can I ask the timings of your day. We really want the ceremony late afternoon and then a break and then the cocktail hour to start just as it starts to get dark. I know that it will be slightly different as we are getting married in may but would be nice to get an idea.

Again you and the whole wedding looked fantastic!

Thanks

Robyn

J Just wondering how you watch your wedding slide show? Don't seem to be able to get into it? Is the seaside grill better for the reception then the pool deck ? Not sure where to have it? Can you have dancing there as well? Hope to see your pictures

Just got married and the DJ there is Mauricio Neri and he is AWESOME! I was totally worried and panicky and was real specific with him on certain songs and tried to be as thorough with him because I was so unsure. But I couldnt of been happier. He is so nice, professional and understands and listens to everything you say. Everyone was having so much dancing we even extended our reception and hour. I wish I would of had more confidence in him and worried less so that is why I am telling you all!

Where did you have your reception, outside or in and if outside was it too windy? I keep hearing this comment. How long are you allowed for the dance with the DJ? would love to see some pictures, they always tell the true story of how nice things were.

No I'm pretty sure it is included. Just when you've reached your time limit of 1hr cocktail our and 3hr reception then you have to pay extra p/p per hour. Maybe that was what they were talking about. After our reception I think we're just going to head to Desires lounge/bar and enjoy free drinks and dancing there. I have yet to hear anything about this bar though :(

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
