 I plan on sending them a formal invitation about 1 month in advance along with the "travel brocure" idea that I found on here.

 

  • You should definatly decide on your locations ASAP!, chances are there is another couple getting married on the same day and if your lucky they haven't chosen their locations yet.
  • For ceremony there is the beach set up or the gazebo
  • For cocktail hour there is the jacuzzi, pool deck, pool terrace, and I think somewhere else (not 100% on this one)
  • For reception you have the choice of beach, pool deck, pool terrace, and ballroom
  • Or for reception and cocktail hour you can make a reservation at a restaurant for a fee of course.
  • As soon as you figure out your ceremony times the timeline goes as follows
  • Ceremony 4:00-5:00 Cocktail hour 5:00-6:00 Reception 6:00-9:00 ( so that is 1 hour ceremony, 1 hour cocktail, and 3 hour reception)

I didn't realize they had a buffet option until SAVS mentioned that - I think we will end up doing that for dinner then mixing and matching the gold/silver for the appetizers.  I honestly probably won't even bother with centerpieces, (1) I don't want to have to pack/ship them (2) Mexico is beautiful as it is! (3) I'm trying to cut costs in every way possible!.  We're having a big reception back home so that's where we are doing the more formal settings.  I'm glad you told me about the substitution of the Mexican trio, if that's the case we will definitely go with the Ultimate package!

 

How do you plan on notifying your guests of the timeline? That's where my biggest hang-up is.  I don't have a clue when our cocktail hour, ceremony or reception is.  Also don't know where everything will take place.  I just emailed Yamina to ask her about all of that, so we will see.  I would love to have everything planned out ahead of time so I can tell my guests where they need to be and when.  Beyond that we're all doing our own thing...I feel so unorganized!

Hey girls!! So I have been going back and forth about centerpieces. We only have about 25-30 people coming so I won't need a lot of tables. The prices are a little expensive for the centerpieces I thought--ANy ideas on how I could bring something inexpensive and still nice??

If you want me to send it to you I can, you would just have to tweak some of the numbers to reflect your 40 people, because mine is only for 30.

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

      Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
