Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,  I haven't been on for quite a while (too busy with projects!). I had to stop logging on bc everytime I did, I added to the diy list, lol. Anyhow, my FI (now husband : ) and I got married at DRC on Saturday, Dec 3rd. We're both extremely happy with our decision. The resort is gorgeous, staff is friendly, and even our picky eaters raved about the food.

Yamina is great- she's very friendly and did a wonderful job with our wedding...and she managed to pull everything off exactly how we envisioned it. (I had Ana before, so I was only in contact with Yamina for a few weeks). I brought her two- yes two- large suitcases full of stuff- and everything worked out fine. Anyhow, here's our slideshow. If anyone has any quetions, don't hesitate to ask. I'll try to answer them as best I can.

Your pictures are beautiful :) Looks like you had an amazing wedding! If you don't mind me asking, which wedding package did you choose? Did you add on with your photography?

Tigerlily, congratulations! Your pictures are beautiful! I am getting married March 18, 2012 and I can't believe how close that is. I wanted to know if you added on the trash the dress ahead of time and how much approx. it was. Also, did you bring all your own bows and centerpieces etc? Where did you purchase this all from? I have looked at Theknot and a couple other sites. Also, did you like the Dj? Who did you have? Did you bring your music on CD?

Haha, Julie!  She didn't pick up--my TA had set it up and when we called at the time, she wasn't there.  She's going to try again tomorrow:)

I definitely have been wondering how long receptions last, because if I am going to use the dj I want to know for how long I will need him for. Also, since we are both getting married on the beach--do we get the white carpeted walkway, and white chair covers? I am going with the ultimate and wasn't sure if that is included for the beach! Thanks so much!!! Let me know how your phone call goes, maybe you can answer some of my questions :)

Tigerlily- you are so beautiful!! You wedding looked great. I have a few questions if you dont mind.... First, I like your lanterns as your centerpieces and I was wondering if the resort had them or if you brought them down? And if the resort had them, if you dont mind me asking how much they charged you per. Also, you guest book looked interesting and I noticed you had a fuji instanx camera (which I am having as well) and was wondering what you did as your guest book and/or with the camera? One more questions, I see you had fireworks (not the ones on the dance floor)....how much did this cost if you dont mind me asking??

Thanks!

Thanks jkhowell. What time is your ceremony and reception scheduled if you don't mind me asking? I am trying to figure out all of my times and locations. I was thinking of having the ceremony at 5:30?

So I have to tell Anel today which photography package I want in order to book her services for my wedding day (June 18th 2012). I am torn between package 2 and package 3--

Package 2 is 3 hours of coverage and with tax about $886, package 3 is 6 hours of coverage and $1106 with tax. Package 3 seems to be the better deal--what do you guys think? I just didnt know if 6 hours was too much----need your opinions!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
