Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Recommended Posts

Hey Latinive,

Congrats! - it looks like it all worked out for you! Great photos! I agree with your legal part at home and symbolic there. We did the same thing and feel the same way. Symbolically getting married in front of friends and family is far more meaningful. Handling the paperwork/legality here makes much more sense. Less cost, less hassle and no blood test! lol Don't stick me with a needle in Mexico!

One thing that should be noted to all future brides is that even in the symbolic ceremony (the one Dreams provides) there was a certificate that they had us sign.. which looks like a real certificate - it was a surprise to both of us - but I guess that gives the impression that there is some legal power behind it. A few people who knew we weren't doing the legal part there thought it was kind of funny and everyone else had no clue.

See me here signing my life away :)

Hey Ladies--

I am new to the threads, but I have looked through quite a bit of them. So far super helpful :)

I wanted to see if anyone could give me any pointers on decoration?

I am curious what type of decorating they will provide, so I can see what I need to bring. We are thinking about the Dreams of Love Wedding package, if that helps. I want to bring things like ribbons for the chairs, decorate the gazebo, table decor etc... but wanted to make sure they aren't already going to provide any of these types of decor with the package.

If anyone could send me pics of what the basic wedding set-up would look like, that would help a ton!!!

Thanks!

Angelina

Hi fellow brides!  I'm getting in married at a nearby resort April 6th, but I'm hoping to find another bride getting married April 4th, 7th, or 8th who still needs a photographer.  I'm planning on bringing Sara Gray but she said that if I can find another wedding for her to shoot while she's in Mexico then she'll give us both a great deal.  PM me if you want more details!  http://www.saragrayphotography.com/ She's been featured on some of my favorite blogs...style me pretty, wedding chicks, grey likes weddings, etc

Anel   drercphoto@vallarta-adventures.com  Gina organized it with her but I emailed her directly with some questions, she was fantastic.  I can let you know when we come back how she is but her reviews are great!

We had a couple of guests book at the wrong resort. Dreams is at full capacity 4 of our 7 day stay...after a little panic since the reservation department was closed yesterday. They were awesome!! They accommodated all 4 of our misplaced guests by adding them into other rooms. We told them all they owe us a drink :)

Hi All!

I met with my TA last night and she is contacting the resort to nail down a date now.  It will be sometime in the beginning of June!  So excited!

As we staryed talking about the room block and wedding packages, I came up with some questions I hadn't thought of before.

Does anyone have ober 35 people, and have to rent a private space?  What is that cost like?  Is it really @ $75 more per person after the initial 20 people included in the packages?  Can you trade out any of the ammenities for extra people or anything?  Does anyone know if the beach set up (the huppa thing) comes with the package?

I'm kinda concerned that the price looks good and all inclusive for the wedding package, but really it's going to cost me an arm and a leg.

I actually don't even know what to budget out--but I'm trying to be cost conscious about the whole thing...

What's been some of your experiences on the upgrades and the wedding packages?

Thanks for your help--little overwhelmed today!

Katie

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
