Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

We have 3 kids 12 and under but we paid half price for them, my understanding was the flight cost. That was from Vancouver, Canada. I didn't ask for a specific breakdown though.

I tried to look online and even in the brochures it says 12 and under are free. If they don't resolve this I may have to choose a different resort crybaby2.gif

i was under the impression that kids were free as well, however trying to iron out prices with my TA she said kids 2-12 are an additional cost... this is really all starting to add up fast. not to mention the incredibly high $600 round trip flight cost per person. I'm wondering if I'm making the wrong choice and if i should some how ask for my deposits back if this is possible.

Our kids were $800 each taxes included, we were told that was flight and the stay was free.  We did look at other resorts but for the 5 star it was definitely comparable but it probably depends where you are flying from. I know the USA usually gets much better deals than we get. It was also approximately $100 more than I saw at a later date for booking the group early but I know have one friend who didn't book thinking they'd get a last minute deal and they are sold out.

OMG! Ladies, I came across this site and it seems to be a one stop shop for the DIY in you.  I'm excited to have found feathers that i'm thinking of using for my centerpieces instead of flowers.

HOPE IT HELPS!  HAPPY PLANNING!

S/N  I HAVE argued with the outside vendor thing and am happy to announce that I was told that I could use my DJ, they are "sliding" the suggestion that it would be easier if I booked one of my free rooms for him and then he could be a guest.....I'm considering it but not sold.  I just want the guy because he is affordable.  I was told a $50 fee would be incurred and I agreed to pay that. I threatened to pull my wedding in so many words and I eventually got what I wanted. I'm in no way condoning my actions and encouraging anyone to jump off the bridge with me, I'm just very stubborn.....all of this equates to that tired cliche "bridezilla"  but hey....it worked.

how do i get in touch with the resort?

i currently have a travel agent and feel like she is not getting the job done. i feel like i have so many questions and need answers.

i would really like to talk to someone at the resort about group rates for our wedding week. i already gave them a deposit to reserve the wedding date(through our travel agency) but have so many more questions....

is anyone doing the whole planning without a TA and just through direct contact with the resort?

right now all we have is a date (aug 7th 2012) and a request for the gazebo and pool deck.

so many guests are asking questions about prices to stay there and i want to make sure i have found them the best rate before telling anyone prices. the travel agent has given us rates based on the length of each guests stay (based on double occupancy)

so frustrated

thanks

Hi, im getting married at DRC on 15th January 2012! Does anyone know about reserving a table for the wedding reception? If i reserve a table at one of the restaurants for 17 people how much will it cost? I believe it is 15USD plus tax and service charge per person, is there anything else on top? charges for the food etc?

Also, does anyone know how much they charge to add an extra tier to the cake?

Thanks

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
