After not hearing from Ana for a couple of months, I was finally able to get a hold of someone in the wedding department and found out that Gina is the coordinator for my wedding day (May 19, 2012). As soon as I spoke with her I confirmed my locations and asked her to send me the questionnaire I have seen some of you mention on here. Within minutes, she sent it over and I sent her a detailed email just brining her up to date on all the things I had aready mentioned to Ana.

She responds to me the next day and tells me that all the pricing that Ana had quoted me on (DJ, Photography, Lanterns, Ultimate Package) are all 2011 prices and that they will send me the 2012 prices as soon as they get them. Have any of you ran into this problem?

I dont think it is fair that they are chaning the prices if I have requested all the above based on the prices offered in the wedding brochure. Ana never mentioned the price change.

Have any of you had this problem?? So frustrated! Please help!!

These are beautiful! :) Were these better on costs compared to real flowers?

Hi girls!  So I told some of you that I am doing real touch flowers from a seller on etsy: AlexisGraceDesigns.

Below is a photo of my flowers that she has come up with.  There are hydrangea, calla lilies, two kinds of orchids, and roses.  011.JPG

In order: This is a box called a Blume Box to hold your bouquet, next is my toss bouquet, Kevin's boutonniere, my bouquet, best man boutonniere, MOH bouquet, groomsman boutonniere, and bridesmaid bouquet.

I LOVE what she has come up with and I cannot wait to see them for real!

The resort wanted to change me $199 per bridesmaid bouquet for the same flowers pictured!  I wanted orchids, roses, and callalilies.  My bouquet was going to be $300!!  I started doing research and found Kim.  She is saving me $303 dollars and I get the flowers I want!

We also went with basic room but have been upgraded ALREADY to the honeymoon suite based on the promise of 20 rooms.  After that they will likely throw in free nights and stuff.  I think we'll about 30-40 rooms booked.  :)  The guests have their choice but the price quote is for the lowest room.

That's a good idea. Thanks for sharing.

haha that's exactly what we had thought of doing. We received our STD's about 3 wks ago and were looking at sending them out sometime this month but a close family member threw us a curve ball and decided to get married in Nov. and "requested" us to wait till their festivities are over before sending anything out. Gotta love families! :)

On a different note: I know this is extremely early but as it gets closer to time, let me know if you want to go in on table overlays/sashes since we're back to back - obviously depending on if you want them at all and the colors (I'm looking at possibly red, orange, burgandy or teal...but changing my mind on a wkly basis so will have a better idea closer to wedding). :)

They have tons of coupon codes online.

Everyone:

We're booked for the Ultimate Package which includes the brides bouquet, corsages, boutonniere etc. Gine emailed me a pdf file with pictures of bouquets etc. How does it work? I don't want to increase my costs on flowers any more than 100% necessary. Do I choose what I like from their pictures for the free bouquet included with the Ultimate package or can I send them a picture of something that I like and would that be the free bouquet I get or do they choose the type of bouquet that's free?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
