Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Recommended Posts

Anne,

I booked in person today since I'm on vacation in Riviera Maya.  They just gave us a copy of our receipt and plugged our date into the computer.  I was told our coordinator will contact us now...so I don't think there is a contract?

Well ladies, we're booked for Friday July 20, 2012 at 6:00 PM!!  I am so so so excited!!!  Dreams is gorgeous.  We did change from having our ceremony at the arch to the beach because we saw one happening today at 3:30 or so and there were toooo many people in bathing suits by the pool... it didn't seem elegant because of that!  I did get some photos, but not great ones.  I will post them when we get home from our trip.  I feel very secure in our decision though after seeing Dreams!!

Hey Chante.

How exciting 7 months is going to go really quickly!!!!! I think we are looking at about 20 -25 people, we have gone with the legal ceremony and the ultimate package. I haven't received any documents what so ever so hopefully this is normal!!!!

I was having a look at past posts on here and from what a lot of brides have said they think less is better in way of decoration because its such a beautiful place so i was thinking of going with the orange and pink theme and maybe just get my own chair bows and table linen and then just something simple like a coloured bottle either pink or orange with a few small pink/orange umbrellas in them for the center pieces. I want to keep the budget down, i think we will go for the DJ as extra but apart from that maybe a few laterns but i will keep it simple. I saw a fantastic website lunarbizarre for all this really cheaply but unfortunately they dont ship to the UK and finding something like that over here is quite a job!!! So i will either have a trip to the US or maybe try and find something different but thats the type of style i think i am going for.

No news from me either re deposit! Just keep waiting!

We are doing a legal ceremony, she has not sent either documents for us to fill out.

You?

I just can't decide what package we want. What did you choose ? I said to Ana that it was either Gold or Ultimate.

PS No news from the deposit yet! She said that the accounting departement are the one taking the deposit, she will let me know as soon as it is done.

Thank you!! I would love if you could let me know the sit down dinner options! I am a noob too so I wouldn't even be able to open an attachment.  We chose the ultimate package. I want to do a menu for my guests so I was hoping I could do a sit down dinner. I don't think we will have over 40 guests so it should would out!  Thanks again!

Colleen,

We booked the whole day package. I want to start pictures when we are getting ready and I'd like to have them at the reception for some things like the first dance, cake cutting, etc. We also chose the trash the dress session, but I am not so sure if I am going to do that anymore.

After I booked my date I got an email back confirming the date and a copy of the credit card receipt.  When I asked for a "contract" Ana told me there isn't a contract, just the receipt. It took about 5 days to get the confirmation email with the receipt from the date I sent it.

I am also curious about the renting out of a restaurant for the reception. I'm thinking about Seaside, for the view.

Which restaurants have you guys rented out and what was your experience?

Did you have room to dance?

Did you have a sound system?

Did you carry in decorations, or did the restaurant provide any decorations?

Did you have a preset menu?

Thanks in advance!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
