Hello Lupita,

We are going with DJ Edgar with Avi productions.

Rodrigo is with Avi productions too and he said that he will be the MC.  I spoke to Rodrigo and his English is pretty good.  I just sent you the playlist, it's a long one.

I would also love a copy of your playlist. My email address is larevalo@diabetescarecenter.com

Thanks!

Hi Sharon,

Thanks for sharing. I received your email but no playlist attachment.

I would also like to go with Avi productions but I have not read any reviews from past brides. I was almost under the impression that the resort wasn't using Avi productions. I also feel like Ana is pushing for DJ Neri. I guess it's something to think about for us.

Thanks again!!pinkie.gif

Hi, please tell me more about the fire dancers. Do you remember the fire dancer's name and did you book them through the resort? I think they look fabulous!!  We plan to having them during our reception it will also be a surprise for our guest.

Our guests were totally surprised, they let my husband to a little fire dancer 101 and it was a gr8 way to finish up dinner.  The minute they were done - the DJ kicked in and the party began.  It was a good lead in to get the dance floor hopping. :-) I think its little touches like that  that make your day even more memorable. The kids LOVED them and our guests are still talking about getting to see them so up front and personal.

Past Brides,

Have you all honeymooned at DRC after your wedding? If you did, did you enjoy it? I have been told that it's not the best honeymoon resort so I'm not sure if we should move to a different resort on the Monday after the wedding.

Hi ladies:

I was wondering if anyone can answer a question for me.  I understand that anyone staying at a different resort, I will have to pay the day pass of 55.00 dollars.  But I'm trying to figure out if there is any extra charges for dinner and cocktail.  If my head count stays at 20 or below, I would think that it covers them, but if my count is over 20 people then I would have to pay the per head fee.  Can anyone confirm this?  Thank you

Hi Latinive,

I might be able to help - I am working with a Wedding coordinator/Travel agent (recommended by Dreams) who told me this:

If your guests are attending the special event, including wedding and reception and depart when the reception concludes –  Dreams will NOT charge for a half day pass.

Instead, ONLY the cost per person over 20 adults (cocktail hour for over 20 guests @ $25.00 USD per person + 11% tax + 15% service; dinner with International Bar over 20 guests @ $48.00 USD per person + 11% tax + 15% service).

hope that helps!

Hey,

We booked them thru the resort. I just told the WC that we wanted them and she made it happen. Closer to the date she asked about an exact time.  There were 3 people.  One female dancer (who was FABULOUS), one male dancer and then the 3rd guy blew the conch shell and played the instrument.  They each performed, let Nay (my husband) have a try in between and yelled congrats after the grand finale :-) Funny thing is, we were at the resort during Cinco de Mayo (sp?) so a few nights before our wedding the resort had the fire dancers perform to celebrate it. So it was pretty wicked to have them there just for us and to experience it that close. We got great pics.  They had a couple of them in the slide show I posted earlier :-) But Iong story short, we LOVED them :-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
