Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

We used the Caribean because of the reviews I saw on here. It was a ton of food and very good. We used the resort for the centerpieces and lanteens. We ended up adding the lanteens last mintue and I'm glad I did we bought 7 at $10/piece and they ended up putting out 8 of them. I would suggest to have them because it makes the pictures turn out and so your guests aren't eatting in the dark!

Beautiful wedding!  If you don't mind me asking, what was the cost of the all day package and did you buy your photos separately or where those included.  Thanks

I would suggest to add a package if you want to make sure you have photos. We ended up buying about 600 pictures! They were all good.

For everyone who is taking advantage of the book 5 rooms, get the 6th free - Was that already going on when you started booking or was your TA able to do something for the rooms you had already booked?  I have a sneaking suspicion my TA hasn't really done too much for me!

Just a thought:  We booked our room through Destination Wedding  Because we ended up having about 20 rooms booked so far.  Perhaps you can have your guests book it through this online company.  I must say, I bought my sisters and parents trip through book it and they are absolutely great.  They are so on top of it.  I am not getting anything out of this but they delivered the best customer service throughout our whole experience.

Good Luck:)

Hello everyone,

Here's kind of a crazy wedding shoes question but here it goes...

To all past or future brides who have had their reception on the deck, or those future brides who have seen the deck in person... Are you able to wear heels on the deck without getting stuck in between the wood slats??  confused.gif   I know this seems crazy but I'm in the process of picking out my wedding shoes and was wondering what type of shoes to get.  Im probably just over thinking this but I really wanna wear high heels under the dress and wondering if this is even an issue...We will not be using the dance floor but have chosen the deck for the reception (for dinner and dancing).  Were shoes an issue for any of you???

I know it seems silly but guests were asking as well and I was unsure what to tell them either...

Thanks,

-a confused, overly-thinking future bride...stupid.gif

This promo was going on last year when we started bookings & they continued it for 2011. From what my TA has said...we can either get a refund check for the amount of the free rooms....or they can deduct it from the cost of our honeymoon suite. I asked advice for a good TA from Tammy & she referred me to Teresa Stauring @ Vacations For Less. She has been really helpful with bookings so far. From what she's said, the only rooms that would count towards the promo were the rooms booked through her under our group agreement. If my guests booked somewhere else on their own, those wouldnt apply as part of the group. Hope this helps!

I was wondering the SAME thing! And my guests have been asking! I already have a pair of flip flops from jcrew, but I want a pair of heels for the reception.

You ordered them and they put them on the posts like that?  Love it!!  Do you think having two posts with eight lights on each would be too much??

No, this is definitely a good question to ask! I want to wear heels for the reception too (on the pool deck as well) so I hope a past bride can answer this...

WestBacani- are you wearing your flip flops for the ceremony? I'm totally confused about that. I kinda pictured a barefoot wedding on the beach, but what if the sand is super hot? That won't be a cute sight at all, lol... But I also know that walking in sand with flip flops can be really difficult, with sand kicking everywhere (unless the sand in that area is pretty compacted??)

If anyone has any insight, please share : )  I've seen really cute foot jewelry in magazines (barefoot sandals I think they're called) so I kinda wanted to do that for the ceremony. I'm confused too blink.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
