Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Recommended Posts

Lol, I was wondering this as well.  I would be reading and then before I can ask the question, someone else already did.  I try to post stuff but I don't want it to be pointless posts:)

Also, to all of you who have over 150 posts, how in the world did you get there? LOL Whenever i have a question, I search other posts and generally find the answer that I was looking for as I do not want to be redundant. But in not trying to be redundant, I don't have a lot of post which means that I can't look at any templates. Any suggestions?

Hey there, it seems like most of the brides are having their reception on the deck, that's where we will be having ours too.  I did a site visit last year and fell in love with the deck part.  You will not be in the sand but you will be close to it:)  There are pictures from the past brides on this thread with the pictures of the deck.

Can you all provide your opinion on best spots to have the reception at DRC?

I would, if possible, like a space/area where the dance floor could be in the middle of all of the table. We also don't really want to actually be on the sand!

TIA for your assistance!!

I've been to both resorts and both resorts are beautiful:  Dreams Cancun you are closer to the hotel zone and all the night life (walking distance).  The pools at Dreams Cancun is extremely small.  They have a small private beach area and they also have a lagoon side beach area with daytime activities like jet skis and trampoline.  The rooms at Dreams Cancun is a tad bit older.  The one thing that Dreams Cancun has that is better than Dreams Riviera is their wedding gazebo that sits right on top overlooking the ocean.  While I was at the Dreams Cancun a few weddings took place at the Gazebo and I must say it was gorgoeous.

I wish that the Dreams Riviera and Dreams Cancun can switch place because I like the location of the Dreams Cancun more but I prefer the Dreams Riviera due to it being newer and the beach is nicer.  I knonw Dreams Riviera is in the middle of nowhere but it's not difficult to have a few outings with my group to either Cancun or Playa Del Carmen; you just have to set up some private transfers ahead of time.  I had the same problem too but in the end we chose Dreams Riviera because it's a much nicer and newer resort.

:)  whatever resort you chose, it will be absolutely purrfect

Below are the three types of rooms that we are considering to have within our room block. Does anyone have any experience/pictures of these rooms? I just came from the DRC website and the pics of the rooms look great but would like to have examples of each type of room if possible.

Is the Plunge Pool worth it?

Thanks!

I brought in Gonzalo Nunez and he was absolutely amazing!! We had a trash the dress session two days after the wedding and I have seen a couple of the pics and they are beautiful a work of art he is so much better than Del Sol photography and his price for the package was reasonable!!

I was worried leading up to the wedding on how it would turn out, but they have weddings down pat and go out of there way to make it perfect in every way. So ladies please do not stress it is not worth it.

I would say it's about a half hour to either town...

I have to say - we did a site visit in January and it is breathe taking!!!  I don't think people will be bored - there is a lot to do - lots of entertainment..we always say we're gonna go out but after you've been in the HOT sun drinking all day - it's exhausting and everybody ends up passing out!!!

Also my main questions are how far is it from Cancun night-life  and Playa Del Carmen night- life... Also a lot of the reviews say there is nothing to do there at night but I will have a lot of young singles at my wedding and I don't want them to be BORED! If anyone has this information or has experienced this hotel please get back to me! Thank you - Emily

Did you try this email:

[email protected]

I've used it many times when I couldn't get an answer - although two days is about the average for any kind of response..

I LOVE DRC but I know nothing about Azul..if you had your heart set on the ONE I wouldn't change.  People will constantly suggest - trust your gut and if you liked Azul..go for it!!

I'm set to get married next May 2012 and have been stuck on which resort to choose. My travel agent seems to know a lot about whichever we want but doesn't have a lot of advice to help us make a decision. We have narrowed it down to Azul Beach and Dreams Riviera but can't decide which one should be THE ONE. Can someone please point me in the right direction? She was really trying to sell us on Azul Sensotori and initially when we contacted her, that's where we were thinking until some relatives dropped other names of other resorts, that's when it got complicated.  Thank you! How I'm feeling trying to figure this out --->hissyfit.gif

Really??  It's in the Knot magazine??!  I'll have to pick it up - that is exciting!!

Too funny..one of my BM's is pregnant and having a C-Section in April.  My wedding isn't until January but we are ordering them hopefully this month.  The Bridal Salon suggested my pregnant BM come in and they will measure her chest - order that size & have to do alterations later!  It took me a year to find something I liked and I LOVE this dress.  I don't want to risk them getting discontinued!!  I know it's early..but better early than late!

As long as we have the order in they have to fill it regardless if it gets discontinued!

Thanks - I love the ring too!!

I'm thinking of ordering it for my bridesmaids too as their gifts, but one of them is pregnant right now. She's due in April, so I'll have to wait a little while to order them (my wedding's in Dec). They say you should order them all together so they're from the same dye lot. Sooo..they better NOT get discontinued, lol.

Love the ring, btw!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
