Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

This is really standard for all inclusives.  It sucks because you are already paying, but in all reality, the guests could have all the food and drinks that they wanted.  Also, because it's a wristband free resort, it's impossible for them to keep tabs on who has paid for a day pass and who hasn't.

pbjwed..I have more questions for you - I hope you don't mind!

How many stands with lights did you use?  Do you think it helped to have the extra lighting?

Did you have to pay for Deco Cancun to come into the resort?

When was your wedding?

Was it chilly at your reception?  Windy?

When we did our site visit Ana told us if we book the Honeymoon Suite we will get an automatic upgrad to the Master Suite - which we saw and was AMAZING!!  Did you get an automatic upgrade?  I know you rave about the room you had..I'm scared we will book the Honeymoon Suite and won't be able to get the Master Suite.  I have 8 bm's so I'm sure you can imagine the larger room would be WONDERFUL!!!

I think that's all I can remember for now..SSSOOOOO bummed about Ivan from Doremixx..I'm hoping they'll figure something out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks so much for all your help - your wedding was amazing!

I brought my own table overlays/chair sashes down so I just gave her those to put on the table. I did bring pictures of the flowers I wanted, (different shades of yellow roses) - and she said no problem. If you notice in my pictures it's not all roses as I requested but it still turned out nice :) Definitely bring pictures of what you want! I did provide a table chart to the coordinator though, to show how i wanted the tables arranged and where to put the place cards for the seating arrangements

It is pretty windy on the beach and beach deck - so if your hair doesn't hold curl well that might be a problem. My hair naturally has wave to it so it holds curls well - I had no problems, but I am thankful I decided to have part of it pinned back otherwise it would have been blowing in my face all night

Did you bring pictures of how you wanted the fabric and flowers to look? Or did they give you options when you got there? Also, this is kind of random but I noticed your hair was down. With all of the wind did it go flat at all or did the curls stay nice the whole night?

pbjwed~

Thank you again for all of the information! I guess I just have to figure out if I want to bring the chair sashes or bring in Deco Cancun. I feel better now that I have choices, I was not excited about paying $5 a chair for a sash! Anyway, thank you again for posting so many pictures and explaining everything that you chose to do. I am sure it will help a lot of future DRC brides :-).

2 stands with strands of lanterns. I wish I had two more for the beach side... LOVED THESE LIGHTS! They looked so beautiful in pics!

Did not have to pay for Deco Cancun

Wedding was Nov 11th.. it was breezy but  everyone loved that it was by the beach!!!  I gave the ladies pashminas as the favor..

ok the trick is to RESERVE THE MASTERSUITE!!!!!  Then they will deduct it after!!!  I specifically asked for that room and it was great for pictures!

Anytime!!!

Hope this info helps!!  if you look at pics from Nick Carter inc.  That mastersuite is PERFECT for 8 BMS..  I had about 13 people in my room

pbjwed..THANK YOU!!

So the trick is to reserve the Mastersuite..GOT IT!!  Good to know - I would have been SO mad if we weren't able to get it.  Just form all the brides talking about the mix ups..them promising things they aren't delivering I didn't want to screwed!!

They deducted it after?  How did you do that??

Pashmina's is a GREAT idea for favors for the ladies..what about the men?  We were thinking cigars..

I know you've told me before..but what was your room number - I think I'll request it!!  Did you request it to your WC?

Can you tell me how you planned your trip?  Did you work with a local TA?  Did you do a package deal flight/resort or did your guests find their own air?

Thanks again - sorry so many questions!   You've been a WONDERFUL help!!  smile03.gif

Hi girls! Sorry I have been gone for what seems like FOREVER... it's been so hectic since the wedding (Christmas, and then back to school and work...). I just wanted to check in and say hello. And to share a few photos that our photographer posted to his blog.

These are from the wedding day: http://www.michaelwachniak.com/realloveis/2010/12/angela-craig-dreams-rivieracancun-resort-destination-wedding/

And these are from the TTD two days later: http://www.michaelwachniak.com/realloveis/2011/01/angela-craig-trash-the-dress-session-in-cancun-mexico/

I promise I'm working on a review for you soon!

So you know she has a good EYE!!!  If you need anything let me know!  Who did you end up using?  Deco or EW??  It will be fine!  What you should ask if the new DJ wil be able to provide balloons and masks!!  My guests LOVED them and they were sooo much fun!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
