Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Recommended Posts

Ladies,

The originaly wedding coordinator, Ana, was all alone with no help and made quite a mess for the wedding department at the dreams.  I think she just had too much to handle by herself and she became extremely unorganized and WAY overbooked the resort for weddings.  The following wedding coordinators have been trying to play "catch up" and it has been extremely stressful for them.  Gaby told me she gets there at 7:30 in the morning and doesn't get home until 9:00 at night - 7 days a week!  Due to personal reasons and the extreme hours and high stress of this job (just imagine all the crazy brides!), she resigned.

There are still 3 wedding coordinators there, that have been working with Gaby.  Luckily there is more than one person.  Gaby told me that they have 2-3 weddings/day until June 2011.  From that point forward, they are only going to have one wedding a day. - This is a good thing!-

However, with all of this being said, my wedding and all others that I have read about,  turned out amazing!  So, I have faith that if they can do such an amazing job with the weddings while being so busy, that they will continue to do an amazing job as they get more organized and have fewer weddings.

Don't panic!  Just be patient and your communication with them will get better and more frequent as you get closer.  Honestly, just tell them what you want, and they will make it happen.  Pictures are very helpful for them!

Still working on my review but it will be soon!

Lori

We got married before we went, just for this reason. It cost about $400 to do it there and we had to mess with blood tests.  It was just simpler and less expensive to do it here first.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
