Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Recommended Posts

I am using a TA that I absolutley LOVE!!  Her name is Kim Grammer and her email is kim@i-travelagent.com   She operates not only as a TA, but also as a coordinator.  She has been so helpful in getting the resort to answer my questions and she has worked thru the hurdles I have met in dealing with the peole at DRC.   I would highly recommend using a TA to book your wedding beacuse they negotiate your group room rate.  I would definelty choose Kim again to work with.

Bridesmaid lunch - If Oceana is open that day that would be nice, but seaside grill is open for lunch as well.  The only thing is those two places are outside so if you're worried about getting hot or sweating...you might want to go with World Cafe since that's inside and air conditioned.

For our farewell brunch we're doing it in the world cafe - we're going to speak to the manager a few days in advance and just ask them to block off a corner for our group.  That way people can come down for breakfast whenever they want between 9 and 11 you know?

We used a TA as well - for a couple reasons...we found the group rate through the hotel was not nearly as good as what our guests could get online and our TA does pricematches so you can book today and 3 months before the wedding if specials come out, she rebooks you.  So over half our guests basically got a tropical view room for $100 per person per night.  Also, we have older guests who don't feel comfortable booking hotels online or flights so we wanted them to have a contact to handle all that.

And of course, same as the other girls, my TA is great about getting in contact with the coordinators.

Although I will tell you that Gabriela takes about 2-3 days to respond to my emails so I'm much happier!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
