I think the resort can do it also (there is a screen and projector in Desires night club that I think you can use). Ana's prices are the same, I believe - but not sure about if she arranges for someone to help play the slideshow. We are going to do this the night before our wedding.
I e-mailed Ana about a slide show for our wedding in October and she told us it was $500 USD and we were only allowed to use their equipment. So we decided not to since it was super overpriced for only 10 minutes of actually using the equipment. Maybe things have changed, I'm not sure but that is what she quoted me. Hopefully it did change :)

Was there someone going to play the slideshow or you had to actually set it up and do it all yourself?

Hi ladies I asked Ana about the projector at Desires and she said it cant be used for just a party because that is an Open area for other guests.. I orginally wanted to use this for our welcome party.. Did anyone CONFIRM with Doremixx that its an additional 200 for the projector? that seems like alot? She told me orginally 600 then it came down to 180.. but that might change..

Our plan was just to bring our laptop from home and hook it up to the projector and speaker system they had there. My wedding planner here said she saw a presentation on the pool deck set up just like that when she went there. But who knows. It seems like Ana just kinda throws out numbers when to comes to pricing sometimes. Since it seems like we all get different answers from her sad.gif I wish there was one concrete answer to all our questions....

I sent Ana a picture of the exact setup I wanted and she said she could do it. I also wanted flowers in the sand on the beach and then a pink and orange decor for the four post thingy they put in on the beach. We are having 39 people coming with us so it isn't too huge but not tiny either. I haven't decided anything for the tables for dinner yet though. I am still thinking of what to do for that. I want something really elegant. I think I will do hurricane vases with flowers and candles in them. Something simple but pretty. The price of our wedding just keeps going up... We are not doing anything once we get home so this will be it for us. What are you doing??
We are doing the white chairs with alternating chair bows. (are u using Ana's or taking ur own?) I've got fans with tears of joy tissue packs attached to them that will be put in the seat. I also want a TON of orange and pink flowers or petals on the beach! I'm hoping I can negotiate the price because $22 a bag...hello! We want the actual beach set up to be draped in orange and pink material instead of the white. And, we're going to have petal cones hanging on the chairs so ppl can throw them after the I do's. And, I've got pink and orange parasols that will somehow be incorporated.
We're doing the free package so just hitting the resturant and bars after the wedding. We have already spent so much money on our AHR that I'm a little overwhlemed. Thank goodness for my daddy! :)

I'm getting married this week and I hit her up a week ago and she got right back to me.

Now, I emailed her last night with my final count and a few other questions:
~how do we pay?
~can I get a new copy of the contract with changes?
~did you make the salon appointment for me?

I would think I'd get an answer tomorrow night at the latest, seeing as how we have a meeting set up for 8pm on Tuesday!

Does anyone know if the dress code is enforced for children? My TA and I can't get a straight answer from anyone about this.

Also, does anyone know how you pay Ana for the wedding??

p.s.

Some friends of ours got to DRC today and sent us a text. It said word for word: DUDE! THIS PLACE ROCKS! IT'S THE BEST PLACE WE'VE EVER BEEN TO!!

I started jumping up and down in the kitchen and got all misty eyed.

From what I have read on the Facebook fan page, the dress code is not enforced for kids.

I know that you pay for the wedding at the resort, after the wedding but before you leave the resort. I assume you would pay by credit card, but hopefully one of our past brides can chime in here on the procedure!

Mmm. For some reason, I thought everything ($$) was due two days before the wedding. But, maybe I'm wrong. Would make more sense to pay after - just to make sure everything goes as planned.

I have CONFIRMED with Ivan (from Doremixx) the pricing for the setup for a slideshow. However, I should clarify - we have a large group coming and we wanted to have something organized the night before the wedding. So we are going to do Karaoke for a few hours (which we'll be using Doremixx for) and he'll also bring stuff to set up a slideshow (for the extra fee I quoted earlier). If you wanted to do the slideshow during your reception or something, I'm sure he could work that out and I would imagine at the same price he quoted for us.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
