I haven't heard of these coupons....what are they for and when do you get them?

I was told $180 for the ceremony and then $180 per hour after that. With the ceremony, the cocktail hour, and then a 2 hour reception that's $720. Seems ridiculous to me.

I sent muliple followup emails, about one every 2-3 weeks. It was extremely frustrating. I was even working with a travel agent to try and help. I was going to give her one more week and then I was just going to call but luckily she finally responded. I know thier preferred method of communication is email but I waited over 2 months and thought a call wouldn't be unreasonable at that point.

Now my frustration is waiting for her to take my deposit from my credit card. I realize she is extremely busy but it gets a little rediculous with the no communication. The weddings they book and the guests we bring them for the wedding is a huge part of thier business. I think they need to come up with a better system. All I want is my date and my deposit taken care of and I won't "bother" her for a whole year :)

What is keeping me with DRC is all the wonderful things I've heard and from reading other brides reviews reassuring us that once we get there everything will be worth it and that our weddings will be beautiful. So thank you to all the previous bride because if it wasn't for you I would've dropped DRC due to lack of communication.

Keep trying Jen! It will be worth it. Dreams is beautiful and I've read almost only great things, I'd say about 90% of the time people are overly impressed and 10% of the time people nit pick at stuff with negative comments but still have good things to say. I think DRC will be worth it in the end!

Thanks Adriana for the information and encouragement! I'm feeling a little more hopeful and will keep on trying. I guess persistence is the key. In the meantime, I hope your wedding planning goes smoothly as well!

Not sure if anyone has replied to this post but there is a great photo of the resort layout on the actual website for Dreams Riviera Cancun.

Dreams Riviera Cancun Resorts & Spas: Resort Map

If you cannot open this type into Google, Dreams Riviera Cancun and it should be the first link in the results. Once on the website look for the "Resort Info" tab thing on the upper left had side of the page. Under this is the resort layout. Hope this helps.

This is the same information that Ana gave me. It is much too hard to pay that when I can pay for my own sound system for less than that.

Exactly. Especially when you can use it again if you buy it yourself. :) I'm still looking for the perfect sound system...

Emma, what do you think of this?

I have had an absolutely horrendous time trying to get someone on the phone or over email to book my wedding date and give a deposit. I've gotten a hold of Ana twice but only after calling the resort 5 times and getting transfered around a million times. Both times she was working a wedding and couldn't take my deposit. The last time I spoke with her she told me the date I wanted was availabe and to shoot her an email and she would immediately email me back with instructions on how to give her my deposit....that was a week ago....Has anyone else ran into this issue?

Hello ladies! I am back from the GREATEST WEDDING EVER!!! Anyone doubting this resort... DON'T!!! I know Ana is a pain to get in contact with but in the end she really comes through!!! I have posted an insanely long review for all of you, and if you have any questions let me know on the thread! Now that the wedding is over I don't have time to spend on here going through every post to answer questions so if they are all on that thread I will be sure to answer them! I HUGE thank you to all you ladies who have made this experience easier because of your help and advice! I don't think my wedding would have been possible without this forum! LOVE TO ALL YOU FUTURE BRIDES! Can't wait to see all of YOUR pictures and I truly hope all of your "DREAMS" come true, just as mine did!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
