Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Here is a pic of the buffet from my wedding...sorry it's not a great shot of the whole buffet, but you can kind of get an idea. There was also another station off to the side of this one where there was another table...

And here is a pic of my wedding cake. This is the one that came with the package... I did absolutely no upgrade. I am so glad I didn't worry about the cake at all because nobody even ate it! There were great desserts on the buffet and everyone was pretty full from the cocktail hour and dinner...

Ohh Laura - I have a question for you! So I'm looking at your set up and I see the buffet set up along the back, and the tables in front and the dj in the back corner next to the cake...

Where was your dance floor? Was it in the middle of the deck or off to a side?

I'm trying to remember the configuration I saw when I was down there and for the life of me I can't remember!

Thanks!

The dance floor was in front of the DJ. The bar was next to the DJ (on the opposite side of the DJ as the buffet table). And we walked in from that side too.

Laura,

Thank you for all of your feedback from your wedding!! Has been very helpful! Another question. How long did the dj play for you? Was it long enough and could you have him stay longer if you wished?

Thanks so much Laura for the pics of your tables! How many did you have? I just ordered overlays and ordered 5 to be safe because the other pic showed 4 buffet tables. What do you think?

They provide the white linens and I believe they have some plain colors . I just ordered mine from weddinglinensdirect.com I know a bunch of people used them. They have so many different colors to choose from. The overlays were only a few dollars. I believe at the resort they charge you $25 per table to just put on an overlay. That is ridiculous! I would rather spend $4! LOL

Is anyone else using DecoCancun for decor/table linens at DRChuh.gif Is there an outside vendor fee or something I'm going to end up paying for this??
We haven't officially booked her yet, but I am planning to use DecoCancun also! I believe there will be a resort fee to bring her in. Assuming they only charge for Ana (from DecoCancun), I think the fee is around $80. I'd make sure - because they might charge for each person she brings with her to help set up. She might even know the answer to that. If you find out, could you let me know?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
