Well I'm glad to hear that not everyone that went got sick. The only two that didn't get sick in our group are the two that normally suffer from stomach problems. Weird that the rest of us that normally have an iron stomach all got it. It must have been something we ate. Anyway it was still an awesome wedding and we had a good time anyway.

We all got our hair done at the salon at the resort and if you bring pictures that helps a lot. The bride had them redo her hair as it wasn't put up at the right height for the veil but the redo turned out wonderful in the end. I had the front desk girl come back and explain what I wanted to the girl doing my hair as she didn't speak english. We had pictures though. They are really good with long hair. It's something they do all the time. I wouldn't stress about it too much. We just went and made appointments the day we arrived. If groomsmen and groom are getting clothes pressed you should set that up when you get there as they charged an extra 50% by asking the day of the wedding for a rush service.

Also, I read on trip advisor ( i know, i need to stay off that site ) that there are armed military patrolling the beach at night, and you are not allowed to walk around the resort after dark.... how accurate is this? I know my family members were hoping to swim at night... is this not allowedhuh.gif
When I was at DRC in early May, my Fi and I did see 3 army men with very large guns walk down the beach, in the middle of the day. Sometime between 10am and 1pm. We did walk around the resort at night..but never the beach. To be honest I found the beach to be too dark and night, and it did make me nervous. But in the week that we were there we only saw them on the beach the one time. We also saw the army on our way to Playa.

Yikes well that is scary, I never heard of this till now, maybe its just me but it makes me more nurveous to see that, I would have felt more secure had there not been guns around, like that is so strange!!

I have a question...I've completely given up on getting responses from Ana...so I started emailing DecoCacun and Ana there has been super super helpful. She has the perfect linens and great decor for the reception and cocktail hour and of course it's half the price of what the resort is quoting...So I totally want to use them

Is anyone else using DecoCancun for decor/table linens at DRChuh.gif Is there an outside vendor fee or something I'm going to end up paying for this??

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
