Can anyone explain to me what the extra cost would be? The web site says $48 per person for dinner, $26 per person for the cocktail hour, and I have read on this site that it is $60 for each additional person. huh.gif

Also, is there a price difference between the buffet and the sit-down dinner?

Finally, can anyone confirm that we can substitute the cocktail hour for an additional 10 guests? I read that somewhere but I don't know if it was for DRC.

Less than 4 months to go and it is still taking over a month to get replies from Ana. Starting to feel very stressed...
The $60.00 is with tax. Here is a line from an e-mail I receieved from Yazmin "the charge per guest is $ 26 usd + 11% taxes + 15% service for cocktail and $48 usd 11% taxes + 15% service per person for dinner."

I don't believe there is a price difference for buffet v.s. sit down but I can't say for sure.

I was told by Yazmin you CAN substitue the cocktail hour for additional guest.

Hope this helps, best of luck!

This certainly beats the extra $1500+ you would pay for an additional dinner and cocktail for $20 more guests. From there, she said any additional guests would be the resort price ($48pp or whatever it is).

Hope that helps! We opted to get rid of the cocktail hour and have our guests gather at the Barracuda Bar or Desire's lounge. The drinks are free so you might as well take advantage of that and not pay for a private cocktail hour!
WE are doing the same thing.. and Ana offered us the same as well.

Best,
Thank You! I've tried the number a few times. They connect me and then I hear a beep, which I assume is a voicemail for Ana? I just checked my email and she actually responded! YAY!

I really like the chair sashes. I think they add a nice little splash of color. I'm totally going to use them

I just want something for pics when we're announced as man and wife.
I don't think anyone ever said that rose petals were not allowed at the beach; I think what they wrote was just a bit confusing. My understanding is that rose petals on the beach are allowed but must be real. However, if you are getting married at the gazebo (therefore off the beach), you may use fake petals.

I think it depends on the overall feel and style of your wedding. If you are going super simple and minimalist, or having a very small ceremony, then I think sashes are totally not necessary. But if you like them, do it! I love the look, and my wedding is going to be a bit bigger and more formal than some I think, so I'm definitely having chair sashes.

I did get a monogram cake topper! Actually there was another bride on here selling some that she didn't end up using, and they just happened to be mine and FI's initials! So I got a super deal. Must have been meant to be :)

They are really beautiful, and have swarovski crystals on them. I'm thinking that I will have flowers on the top tier of the cake and our two initials will be kidn of nested in them. I have to say though, personally I don't know if I would have sprung for them at the price most stores want for them. The cake isn't a super important thing for me though, so I just couldn't see spending too much on a topper. I think if the cake is important to you though then you should go for it!

Thanks! I may get one because they definitely are beautiful. Little pricey on most of the sites I have checked out. Where did you get yours?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
