Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Recommended Posts

I can't believe that our wedding is coming up in 25 days!! Time surely flew by.

I have some questions for the brides that have already gotten married at DRC.

We are having the cocktail hour before the reception. On the wedding contract, it says to pick one cold and one hot appetizer.

There are 3 categories of the cold one's and 3 of the hot one's. Ana is so vague on answering my questions as usual. Does that mean I get to pick only one cold and one hot appetizer? Or do I get everything listed under the hot and cold appetizer category?

Also, we have about 39 guests coming to the wedding. As far as the menus go..can we get the buffet menu if we have less than 40 people. I understand that it is mandatory if we have more than 40 people. Or do we only get the sit down dinner menu. If we choose the buffet, do we get everything on that menu or have to choose items under each category?

NO RAIN VIBES PLEASE *************

I will be taking lots of pictures and writing a review for all of you when I get back. If any other brides are going to be there this week maybe we can run into each other. My wedding will be on May 21 at 5:00 pm so feel free to come and hang out with us all lol
Congrats!!! So excited for you - the wedding is going to be beautiful and don't stress about the rain! The forecast in Mexico always claims it's going to rain! I'll send you happy sunny thoughts all week! (and even if it does, the backup location is really really really pretty!)

Yep! We had three in our room every morning - they're rolled up in the little basket on the console in the bathroom

Hi! Yes, that was a group rate through a travel agent... it looks like we're going to be between 30 and 60 people. But they give that group rate for any groups over 10 people as long as the 10 are able to put the deposit down. We're basically just paying the deposit ourselves and the money will be reimbursed to us when the first 10 people book. That way, we're guaranteed that rate.

It's not easy trying to find a beautiful resort that is reasonably priced!!

If anyone has the information that I saw someone else ask about, with the pictures of the centerpieces, bouquets, cakes, etc. Can you please send it to me? If you don't mind? JLengagement@gmail.com

Thank you so much!

Hi ladies - I need your help!! I got a really high quote back for our group rates. I just wanted to know what everyone elses quotes per person have been, does it include airfare, how many people are in your group, and what the dates are. If we can't talk the rate down I'm afraid we aren't going to be able to get married here and we have already put our deposit down. Thanks!

Ana told me it would be $250 per hour to add time.... is this what you didhuh.gif THANKS!!!
I e-mailed the resort photographer directly and they told me they are available for however long you need them......no time limit.
I would check with them directly at DREAMS RIVIERA CANCUN PHOTO drercphoto@vallarta-adventures.com. If they say there is no time limit, keep that e-mail!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
