This really sucks. I am so freaking tired of not being able to do this or having to buy something for a high price. Oh well I guess it made my life easier. I guess we will just not be throwing anything.
Instead of flowers my flower girls will be dropping sea shells (soft ones, no jagged edges). If you go to save-on-crafts.com they have some freeze dried petals on there, but I am not sure how long it would take to get them.

Someone else mentioned costco..... that is a good idea. We did that for my sisters wedding here. You can get like 2 dozen roses for $15 and you just cut off the petals, it is very easy. For her wedding we only needed about 6 roses for the girls. You can get a good amount of petals from 2 dozen roses!

We also have the quote from this song on our programs: "I got my toes in the water, ass in the sand, not a worry in the world, a cold beer in my hand, life is good today". It is very fitting for our personalities. My bridesmaids will walk in to the theme from Forrest Gump. It is absolutely beautiful and one of my favorite compositions ever! It is the song in the movie when the feather is falling :). I will then walk into an instrumental version of "Can't Help Falling in Love" by Elvis. I found a piano version on iTunes and I love it. I am not decided on the recessional song yet, we will probably stick with Signed, Sealed, Delivered. For the sand ceremony we are going to do a Dave Matthews song. We are leaning towards You and Me, but are not 100% certain.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE THAT SONG... "I got my toes in the water, ass in the sand, not a worry in the world, a cold beer in my hand, life is good today". And think that is PERFECT... that is something we would love to use somewhere to, as that is our personalities as well!

Me and FI will be 30 by the wedding and most of our group is the same age or a bit younger. I'm sure we'll be hearing complaints!!

As far as the rose petals go..I wanted to write and say that Ana does not allow rose petals to be thrown on the beach. But, she does allow it if you are getting married at the gazebo.

So I went to Michael's and bought a few boxes of the silk rose petals and will have Ana scatter them on the aisle before the ceremony starts.
Interesting! I do have a flower girl.......so she won't be able to throw rose petals? It seems weird that Ana wouldn't allow real petals but she will allow silk petals? Is that what you are saying?

I contacted dreams and got terrible rates. The guy actually told me I'd get better rates through an agent, with all the same extras. The TA's can get the same rates as places like expedia. I'd definitely go with a TA.

I have called the resort and asked for the wedding coordinator several times, and most of the time have been able to speak with Ana or Yazmin. I too had problems nailing down a date and time, so I felt that was worth the phone call!

Another bride told me that you could mix menu options, for those doing the love or ultimate package.

I'd love to know the petal question, too. Thanks to all of you brides answering questions and all of you sharing sites. I think I now have an addiction to this thread! I was out of touch or a few days and began having withdrawal symptoms...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
