I haven't had much contact with Ana, but am not worried after all of the feedback. Has anyone done a dinner like this and if so how much did it cost? Did you set something up prior to getting there?

Thanks,
Adrian
I haven't done it yet - but we have a welcome dinner scheduled and we're expecting about 60 people. She quoted me $32pp (so for us it worked out to about $2,000 - although I always forget about tax so it'll be a little more than that)
For that size - Ana told me we basically could do the beach or we could do the area surrounding the pool or the pool deck but since we're doing the pook deck for the reception we'll probably end up on the beach.

I got the bags from Amazon:
Amazon.com: Olive N Figs Plain Vanilla Jute Handbag/Tote: Clothing

I got the mugs from Discount Mugs:
Unique Travel Mugs, Custom Printed Metallic Travel Mug, Metallic Travel Mug, Travel Mugs

I did make my own labels - actually my mom made the sticker labels and I made the hang tags. I think for the sticker labels, she got the stickers at Staples - they might have been blank name tags and then she used Microsoft Word to print them out. She found the clipart for free online. We used these for the money holders and the first aid kits. I am sure that she has them saved on her computer but unfortunately it crashed and I am not sure if she got it back up yet. As soon as she does, I will post templates. As for the hang tags, I used Microsoft Word and just set the margins to be the size of what I wanted the tag to be and put a border around. I had my monogram made by Sproullie Designs Sproullie Designs - Home She sent it to me as a jpeg file. I printed the tags onto cardstock, punched a hole and then used ribbon to tie them on to the bags.

And just to give a list of where I got everything else...
The notebooks were from the dollar store. My mom actually covered them with scrapbook paper (she's very crafty!) and they looked awesome! I got the decks of cards from the dollar store and my mom also covered those boxes in scrapbook paper and then made the labels for them in microsoft word and printed them out on cardstock and then glued them to the deck of cards. The starfish is a stamp. Here's a better picture:

I got the first aid kits from the dollar store and they came with bandaids and alcohol pads. I added to them safety pins and motrin (which I got at Staples - it came as individual packs in a big box). My mom made the labels for them on Microsoft Word.

I got the hand sanitizer from Staples also...it was a great deal - a package of 2 for $1.

I got the chapstick from this website and got the margarita and pina colada flavors. Cocktail Lip Balms

The maraca pens came from Oriental Trading: Wooden Maraca Pens

The beach safe containers also came from Oriental Trading but i don't see the ones I got on their website anymore.

I also put a card in the bags with information on a photoshare site that I set up on shutterfly.

Oh and I also sent out a brochure with some information on it a couple of weeks before the wedding. I did the photoshare cards and the brochures on my computer, which is a Mac, in Pages. I will attach those files! Hope all of this helps!!
Girl! Your brochures are awesome! And so is your mom!!! The notebook and cards look amazing!!! I love it!

Anyone been there lately and keep the resorts lists of activities and times? I'd love to see that to get a better idea of what happens when.

Tell me if I'm crazy - I like sparkles and heels. Maybe it's to help me feel feminine after all my mom chores, but I love these heels. My mom said the nude wouldn't work for the wedding, but I'm not sure. Are they too much?

I'm keeping things a little on the casual side, too.
LOVE them! I think you could easily rock those with the kind of dress you're describing.

and PS - I love heels and a little sparkle too. So much so, I'm actually reconsidering getting married on the beach and moving it to the gazebo since that area is concreted and both myself and the bridesmaids can wear a cute heel. LoL

This is why I did the gazebo as well. Then we just kicked off the heels walked on the beach for pics then put them back on for the rest of the eve.

Hey Everyone

So Vista Print has become my best friend. My colors are brown, green and a touch of purple. I sent out a message in the bottle as my save the dates, with these colors and have made my invations along the lines as well. I also made my Place Cards on Vista Print. I got 100 of them printed (not with the names or seat numbers yet) for only $10.00 and that included shipping!!! so if you don't feel like taking the time to do it on your own computer or buying just plain ones I recommed Vista Print! Attached is the photo of Mine, front and back.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
