This may be the time it pays to have frugal friends lmao Either they aren't dropping the money to come, or they wouldn't dream of wasting it once they put it down. That bridesmaid thing would have me fuming though. How on earth if you were paying for her stay and she was actually in the wedding could she justify pulling a stunt like that?? Ugggh. {{{{HUGS}}} to you and 'hopes' for me I guess. I can't say I want to experience that :-s

Megan...the template I have for the list and times of events is on my mom's computer which just crashed the other day so unfortunately I can't post it for you sad.gif However, it was very, very east to do! She did it in Microsoft Word. If you need help figuring it out, let me know and I will try to re-create it and post for you. I'll post a picture of it...
Also, I got chocolates from Ah Cacao, which is located in Playa del Carmen for favors for my wedding. It was a great suggestion from somebody on here (sorry, I don't remember who!!) and it was a hit. I contacted them through their website before I left for Mexico and paid for the chocolates by paypal. I arranged with Ah Cacao for the chocolates to be delivered the day before the wedding and they were delivered right to the hotel concierge with no problems. They only charged $8 for delivery fee and a taxi ride to Playa costs $50, so it was a great deal! They have lots of stuff depending on how much you want to spend. Did you get stuff for your OOT bags yet? One thing that I put in mine that was used a lot in Mexico and at home was chapstick. I got mine from this website ( Cocktail Lip Balms ) and the flavors were so good :) I got margarita and pina colada - yum! I'll post a pic of my OOT bag contents for you too so you can see what else I put in them. Hope that helps!

Ohhh that was me! I have the pdf for the chocolates - I'm attaching it here for you.
Also - I have templates for my bridesmaids and groomsmen, which I'm sure you can tweak for all guests - I'll attach those as well. I bought a10 sized cards (3.875 x 9.25) at Michaels - it was in the wedding aisle - Mix and Mingle by Gartner studios (I bought white and then ordered pink envelopes from Paper Presentation to stuff them in).

Megan I'm so sorry you had guests back out sad.gif Your wedding is going to be amazing and it's totally thier loss! Everyone who does go is going to come back talking about how great it is and they will have missed out an a fantastic time.

We had friends who are getting married in June confront us and basically tell us they think it's selfish of us to have a destination wedding - the exact quote was "don't you feel guilty asking your friends to spend so much money to fly from Boston to Mexico and stay for 3 or 4 nights?" And the next sentence out of his mouth was "oh Ron are you coming to my bachelor party in London?" WHAT?! Seriously - some people are crazy. So after that conversation we decided it was absolutely thier loss.

Stay focused on your friends and family that are excited - it'll keep you excited! And us! We're all excited for you and can't wait to see pictures and hear how wonderful it was...you're soooo close!

Are you serious?? Thats nuts not mention RUDE! On our Facebook group that we have for our guests - we clearly state that we would love to see everyone there but completely understand if they can't. Its your wedding day therefore no it is not selfish. Nobody is 'asking' anyone to spend crazy money. That decision is up to them. Some people ... No manners, I tell you.

Just returned from our wedding at DRC on April 11, 2010. Don't even know why I was stressed to begin with. Ana and Yazmin did a perfect job. Everything was better than we could have ever dreamed of. We had already stayed at the resort in November and did our Engagement shots with Adventure Photos (onsite photographers) and they were amazing so we stayed with them for the wedding. Anel and Juancarlo did a fantastic job. We are having our reception in our home town this Saturday and so I will post our wedding pics after that! Happy planning ladies!!!

Juan Navarro is actually a DRC resort approved photographer so once I let Ana know I wanted him she booked him for me. She actually gave me him as an option but I know sometimes she doesn't mention all the options sometimes so if you just ask she can arrange him for you. Another girl had him as her photographer the day after mine. I just paid the resort and they paid Juan. I believe (can't remember) it was the exact same price as the resort based photography company. I stuck with the package 4 which was $1050 USD and we received a book with about 96-100 photos as well as some 8 X 10's and some 5 X 7s. We also got a cd of all these pictures. Then on top of that we paid extra after the wedding for cds that had over 1200 pictures on them with all rights for us to print as we need etc.. It was a really good deal and they did an awesome job.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
