Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I just got engaged a few weeks ago, and we are in the process of looking at different resorts. Dreams RC is on our short list, and I really love the gazebo idea. It is quite possible that we will have a pretty big wedding (maybe 70ish people??) and I am wondering what the capacity is for the gazebo and beach. Anyone have any idea??feedback.gif

I have emailed the resort a little while ago but haven't heard back.

Thanks!!

Regan

I'm suddenly stressed about the sound system. We're thinking of using the gazebo, but I'm wondering - is the pool too noisy there? What music or sound comes with the packages? (We're doing the ultimate.) Will we need a sound system? Any knowledge any of you have about this would be greatly appreciated!
There is no sound system included with any package. You have to purchase the sound system, which also comes with a technician, for $180.

Regan - we're also expecting somewhere around the 70 person rage - either location will be fine for that size. I saw in a magazine that the resort posted the "outdoor ceremony capacity" was 150...I believe Carina had 100 guests and had a beach ceremony.
Also - for your reception, the deck can fit 200.

I know this was already asked, but I don't know where to look for it. Who all do we need to tip at the wedding and how much. I'm not sure how all of this works. I just want to make sure we tip where we are supposed to.

1. DJ?

2. Photog?

3. Caribean Trio?

4. Wedding Coordinator?

5. Anyone else?

By the way, I will be there for my wedding in 2 weeks...

Ana has said to me the $180 is per hour for the reception! For the ceremony the cost is a straight $180. Don't want anyone to be surprised by the expense at the last moment. If anyone has info contrary to this, please let me know b/c I originally thought it was $180 in total for the reception not per hour.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
