Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Recommended Posts

I received 2 emails from Ana yesterday.... within minutes of emailing her!!! Maybe it was a fluke, but I was very surprised by it!

I wanted to substitute the Mexican trio for the iPOD speakers, however, that is not possible. Ana told me the only substitution they are allowed to do now is flower changes. For example, I am getting 3 bridesmaid bouquets instead of table arrangements because I have my own centerpieces.

I have decided to keep my decorations very simple. I was going to do chair sashes, but then decided that it will look great regardless because of the setting so I did not want to stress myself out over who would put them on the chairs. I also thought that having the overlays would be enough at the reception, so I will not be doing chair sashes there either.

I received some new pictures from Ana.... one of which I believe is possibly Carina from this forumhuh.gif She also sent me the link to Juan Nevarra's blog, and he still is taking pictures for Dreams. Maybe he is only doing the weddings that were confirmed before the switch to Adventure photos?? I am not sure, but his pictures look really great.

I have a logistics question:

For those doing chair sashes, how are you getting them from the ceremony to the reception? Are the same chairs being used or is someone untying them from the ceremony and retying them at the reception? Or are you just getting enough to cover ceremony AND reception chairs?

I am not doing chair sashes, but I believe other ladies have commented on that if you are getting Ana / resort to tie them for you then you need to bring enough sashes for the ceremony and reception if you wish to have them at both, they wont untie and retie them at the next location.

ha ha yeah, its addictive though, I dont know what I would have done if it wasnt for this forum. When I joined this thread I think it was at 60 pages, its easier to keep up and catch up I guess, but I would recommend any newer joiners to bight the bullet and go thru it all, its a life saver.

Is anyone planning on doing a TTD session while in Mexico? I am going back and forth about it and can't decide! If I do it, I don't know what photographer to go with. I already have Claudia booked for the wedding and I think another session with her is just too pricey. Anyone have any advice?

What about the resort photographers? And they're included in your package! I'd send them an email - someone posted Anel's email address in an earlier post - and see if they could do it!
OR check with the other brides and see if they have a photographer booked for later in the day (assuming you're doing the ttd the day after your wedding in the morning...but you know what I mean!)

Thanks for posting these. I did email Juan Navarros and he told me he is no longer the resort photographer, so it must just be for the weddings that were confirmed before the switch.

Does anyone know when the switch was, exactly? I'm going to ask Ana if he can still be our photographer, I really like his work. We had our date confirmed a couple of months ago, not sure if I fall in this grace period.

Hey ladies! I know this is totally off topic but I'm super excited...we got our wedding invitations in today! They're totally not DIY or even remotely DIY because I'm not crafty...not crafty at all and completely stressed out about the programs/welcome letters/table cards and tags that I somehow convinced myself to make...but anyway...

here are my invites - what do you think?!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
