Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies,

I have been lurking on this thread for a while now, and thought I should out myself.

My FI and I have sent in out deposit for Dec. 6 2010. I think this thread will provide me with the information I need, as well as an excellent place to bounce ideas around. Recently I came across a post with a website for discounted chiffon or thule for the wedding arch, I've searched and searched and for the life of me I cant find it again. Can anyone help? I'm 80% sure it was on this thread...Oh bother

On a sidenote - question for you wonderful ladies - how many weddings can Dreams have in a day? I thought I had been told two but I think there are three weddings on my day...and I was going to email Ana but I don't really want to wait 4 weeks for a response...
Do any of you have a phone number for me to call her?

Thanks!
Casey
Hey Casey! In an earlier post you mentioned you were bringing your own photographer. Is the photographer from the Houston area or friend/relative? Just curious...I'm wondering if it's more cost effective this way??

Holy moly. 45 weddings? That's crazy. Thanks for the info Laura. I believe Ana has an assistant now, but sounds like that still isn't enough. Also sounds like DRC is overbooking themselves a bit.

Welcome Letter (I haven't figured out how to attach the pages to eachother yet...haha)
Tag for OOT / which is also my template for my maracas tag
Good Morning Newsletter - which I copied from Martha Stewart :)

I've also created a table card template and a ceremony program template. All my supplies have been ordered from paper presentation and I also bought white shimmery card stock from micheals.

Wow...I have waaaaayyyy too much time on my hands...well actually I'm not a huge fan of my job these days so I'm pouring all my free time into wedding planning projects smile29.gif
Casey..it's me again, lol...can you please attached the table card template and ceremony program? Thanks!

He then told me they could go out of Puerto Morelos but that if the water is too rough they would have to cancel (too much of a risk for me). I just wanted to let you know about another company I found in Cancun. It is Marina Cancun and the sunset sail is $275 an hour for 3 hours. This INCLUDES open bar. They can also provide transportation for $350. My quote is based on 40 people, but they were by far the best price!
I'm going with Marina Cancun also. I couldn't find any reviews on the company but they have been super responsive to my emails. Hopefully we made a good choice.

We actually were really picky about photography, as soon as we picked Mexico we started researching locations by checking out photographers websites/blogs - which is when we came across Elizabeth Medina. So in our case it wasn't so much a cost savings as we just really fell in love with her work and were going to make it work. I've heard some girls in other threads bringing friends / photographers from home AND it is quite inexpensive to fly from Houston to Mexico it might be more cost effective for you. I've actually been looking into Christine Tremoulet for my BD Shoot but I saw on her website that she does destination weddings too.... Hope that helps!

Absolutely! Here they are!

For the table card - I realize it looks gigantic but when you go to print it you click on properties, then click on features and under "sizing" change the paper size to the size of card stock you have (mine is 4x6) then check off the box that says "print to paper size"

I bought paper from www.paperpresentation.com - I got the metallic Flame and I'm printing in pink ink then I got raspberry card stock in 5x7 to go behind it...

I have white pearly paper for the programs and I slide them in a raspberry pocket and tie a ribbon around them. You do not need to mess with the printer paper size on these - the template is for 5x7 cardstock.

I've been channeling Martha Stewart hahaha.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
