We did schedule the dinner directly with the restaurant. We did this on Tuesday ( and the dinner was Thursday). However, if you could get the email address for the restaurant manager beforehand, that might be helpful.
Laura- thanks for posting that ceremony info.

So- did you schedule El Patio reherasal through ana or no? she told me that we could have it on the beach, desire terrace or ballroom?

We did not schedule through Ana. It wasn't a private event. They sat us all in the same section of El Patio but the restaurant was open to the rest of the resort. I guess the options that she gave you would be for a private event?

I'm sure you are getting tired of all the questions! I have a few questions:

1. Did you have a sand ceremony? If so, did you bring your own vase or rent one from the resort?
2. Did you meet with your officiant prior to the wedding?
3. Did you use the resort's ceremony script or did you have your own?
4. Did you create menu cards?

I'm sure I have a lot more questions, but those are the most recent one's that I have been thinking of.

Thanks!

1) Yes we has a sand ceremony and the minister, who's name was Rosanna, brought the sand, little vase, and we picked it up thenext day from Ana.

2 & 3) Honestly, my friend dealt with this because I was running out of time. We had a spiritual ceremony and apparently there were 3 different scripts to choose from - one of which included the sand ceremony. We also incorporated some personal readings and like I said, my friend arranged it all about 30 minutes before the ceremony. If you want to meet with her beforehand, Ana will put in the request for you, but of course it depends on her schedule.

4) No menu cards. We had a buffett.

Hope this helps!

Just looking for advice.
I am telling you the honest truth - I really, really wish I used the resort photographers the whole time. Their work is wonderful and I prefer their pictures over my photographers. Plus, they know the resort really well - so they know where to take the pictures. And the turn around time for the slideshow is very quick! I HIGHLY recommend them!

So I have been seriously MIA from this website. I just wanted to get let you all know my situation and see if any of you guys can help me.

I just found out that my photographer backed out. I was supposed to do an engagement session, wedding day, and next day trash the dress shoot with her! I am so bummed because it will be to hard/expensive to find another. But because I now have the extra $$, I was thinking about upgrading my wedding package.

I originally was going to go with the free package because I just wanted a small simple wedding and really the photographer was the most important part of the wedding for me. But because of my current situation I was thinking about having the resort photographer because they sound great. Instead of just paying for that I figured why not give my guests a formal reception also! So because I haven't been thinking about a reception at all, I need some information.

Do any of you have the dinner/cocktail hour menus for silver or gold or even the platinum or special?

I figure Ana will take too long to get back to me with that information.

Also, I already paid my $100 deposit for the free package but in order to upgrade do you have to send an additional $400? What is contained within the contract with Ana? I asked her numerous times to send me one or just give me information about it and she never did, nor really answer my questions. (surprise, surprise)

So if any of you could give me insight as to why you think one package is better than the other (Love or Ultimate) that would be great to. I can't decide if the $700 is worth it between the two.

Thanks so much!

Plus, they are at the resort everyday so if you wanted to meet with them in person before your wedding, you could do that too. I think they are great. I guess you would just have to figure out how much more they would charge for the extra time. I know that when you buy prints from them it is $15 per picture. Although with the Ultimate Package you get 50 pictures. Definitely worth thinking about!
Still not sure whether I am going with a package or not, BUT if I do yeah obviously I would like to use the photographers for something rather than paying for something that I don't use. My photog will be covering everything I need (rehearsal dinner, wedding, TTD) but maybe I could think of something else, or at very least donate the photo session to one of our guests!

Just wondering how the included photography works - do you get a certain amount of their time? I know you get 50 pictures for example with the Ultimate Package - does this include any high-resolution images on a disc (and if yes, are these edited?)? Or do you get whatever pictures they take on a disc, and then just 50 actual prints?

Sorry for all the very specific questions! Geez, can you tell I've been through the process of finding a photographer? I asked these questions to so many before finding the right one for my wedding :)

This helps a lot! I wasn't sure if the resort had one or not. I just read another thread where they mentioned. I have an email into Ana about this. I'm hoping she will share it with me ahead of time. Were you able to understand your minister? That's what I am afraid of. I really want someone who speaks good English.

I also am glad that you don't think it is necessary for menu cards. I really didn't feel like dealing with them.

Did you think the vase and sand that they provided looked pretty? Do you have a photo of it? Maybe I will look through your photos to see if I can see it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
