I agree. Although I have been contacting Ana myself for for the details and arrangements regarding my wedding, in terms of getting the date and time confirmed I have left this to my TA.

Ha! We purposely plopped our wedding day on a Wednesday so that people who come will hopefully stay with us for the week! I guess we are mean, lol.

We are getting married on a Friday but I still hope that most if not all will be there for the week, I am actually somewhat bumbed though cause our guests are indicating that they will be coming but we sent our save the dates a month ago and no one booked yet sad.gif I know quite a few actually requested the time off work already which is great, but why is no one booking? sigh

Ashlynn039 & Angela-
We also wanted a Friday or Saturday but found out those were all booked up until 2011!! We went with a Thursday that way our guests would make a long weekend out of it or decide to head back on Saturday and recoup for the real world on Sunday to make it back to work on Monday!

So it seems pretty risky to send decorations before hand... interesting. What are some things y'all are putting into the OOT bags? I was thinking sunglasses, sunblock, an area map, goggles, and disposable cameras. Can you pack multiple bottles of sunblock in your luggage or should I just try to buy this item down there?

I was wanting to make a more personal gift bag for my bridesmaids and groomsmen with monogrammed beach towel and some other goodies, but its not looking like I'm going to have a bridal party sad.gif

I am a HUGE DIYer as well...and am struggling with how to transport decorations, OOT bags, menu cards, etc. I've heard that you have to ship around 1 1/2 months in advance (don't quote me :) ) in order to guarantee it arrives on time...as organized as I like to think I will be with my wedding...I HIGHLY doubt I'll have things ready that far in advance to be ready to ship!! So I will more then likely put all the items in suitcases...and ask different family and friends to take an extra bag with them in order to avoid extra baggage charges :)

Best of luck with your planning!! -- Nicole
Nicole,
You mentioned menu cards... is this for your reception? Are your guests choosing their meal at the actual dinner or before hand? I have no idea how this part is done! I wasn't sure if I need to send out an additional insert with the invitation or to put it on our wedding website.

Cathy... I'm not having a bridal party either. Between us, Brad & I have 5 sisters, 2 brothers and 13 nieces and nephews. We wouldn't be able to pick a small enough wedding party to have people sitting down to watch the wedding. We're just having all the guys wear similar outfits (probably khakis and white button up shirts) and all the girls get similar dresses so it will still look really nice in pictures. I'm calling all of our guests our honorary bridal party.

Haha - I like your style! Clever :) It was more so for FI's friends, since we aren't sure how long they'll be able to take off work. But I think most people on my side will be down for a week! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
