This site has helped a lot but I got a little worried that my date wouldnt be avalable when I saw people that were already booking for 2011. Thanks so listening! :)
Hang in there, they do 2 weddings each day, it just might all work out yet, it has been tough to be patient with Ana, but ultimately I find it does all work out

Happy planning!

Hi ladies! I just spent my whole planning period scanning through sooo many posts! I'm getting married at the end of July and I already paid my $500 deposit back in January. I've already received a contract and my honey and I added comments to it and Ana got back with me to confirm the changes. So the other day I resent her the commented contract along with some other questions and I got this response that was something about the email account being changed...

Did anybody else get this? The first thing I thought of was that Ana was no longer working there!! I haven't heard back from her (although it's only been a few days) but I'm starting to panic!

Also, I'm pretty laid back about most of the details: as long as its me, him, our families and the sand between our toes I don't care about the rest! But the small inner diva in me has been thinking about decorations and I'm a DIYer but I haven't figured out the logistics in bringing stuff down!

Anybody got a clue on how you're bringing the decorations? Are you taking it with you in luggage or shipping before hand? I'd like to do floating candles in vases (like a previous post showed) and I was really thinking on making some pomanders out of paper but how would I get it all there?

Hi Amanda,
It may help if you work with a TA and have your TA contact Ana, she seems to respond a little faster that way. And we all know what you're talking about when you mention the long wait times for a response :) It's annoying, but Dreams is supposed to have beautiful weddings - so it will all be worth it! Just be flexible about the day, like you we knew what month we wanted. Unfortunately we weren't able to get a Friday or Saturday date so we settled on a Monday since it was still close to the weekend for our guests who can't take much time off of work. Hang in there! :)

Amanda...I also got no response from Ana when I tried myself. I am now using a TA and everything has gone much more smoothly. My TA also has a spanish speaking friend help her talk to Ana. That has been working great! I am getting married Aug 8. I wanted July too, but that was inavailable. Try a sunday or Monday in August. Also, get a hold of a good TA. Good luck.

Hi everyone, just wondering if there are any brides who have prices from their travel agents for november/december 2010. We are getting married at the end of december and leaving from canada and the prices are almost doubled than any other time, I know that it is Christmas but it is crazy. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same thing and maybe how much you guys are paying per person?

Hi Amanda! I am in the process of trying to secure a date with Ana as well. It took her almost 2 1/2 weeks to respond to my initial email requesting date availability....so it's not just you :) I sent a follow up email about a week ago and am still awaiting a response. I am hoping like you my date is available. Best of luck!!

I also got a bounce back....I believe her emails are auto-forwarded to her new email address (weddings.drerc@dreamsresorts.com), but I still forwarded myself just to be sage.

I am a HUGE DIYer as well...and am struggling with how to transport decorations, OOT bags, menu cards, etc. I've heard that you have to ship around 1 1/2 months in advance (don't quote me :) ) in order to guarantee it arrives on time...as organized as I like to think I will be with my wedding...I HIGHLY doubt I'll have things ready that far in advance to be ready to ship!! So I will more then likely put all the items in suitcases...and ask different family and friends to take an extra bag with them in order to avoid extra baggage charges :)

Best of luck with your planning!! -- Nicole

I heard the same thing for shipping.. that it's something like 2 months in advance. Whatever decorations I bring I'll probably just put in my suitcase, and pass some things out among family members to bring as well :) Much easier and that way I know my items will make it! embarrassed.gif

Sheena my experience so far has been is that expedia is cheaper than going thru a TA, my TA has been quoting all direct flights, predominantly thru aircanadavacations.com but group rates and we are staying in two diff. resorts and the like that expedia cant really handle... we are in Calgary, and have a whole bunch of people from Winnipeg and some from Vancouver. I found that some airline providers, for example Westjet, arent quoting yet for that far out. So I mean it might be an expensive time but maybe if you do some research closer too there maybe additional providers and you might get a break, cause yeah double, thats ouch! Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
