Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Recommended Posts

I am getting them thru a vendor recommended by Secrets Maroma, the small rose pomanders are USD 35 each, and some of other flowers if I remember correctly are USD 25 each. The vendor can also do the huge pomanders, but 4 of those were like USD 360, but were like the size of a head. I considered these at first but then thought that there isn’t enough height in the beach canopy thing and we would just keeping bumping against it.

I guess to be more specific

It is aprox 14 cms for the small one and 25-30 cms the big one

Gabi at Planner1Events is the vendor

I tried copying the pictures from the email into word to post them here but its not letting me, I believe she has some of the pictures on her website however. I didnt like Gabi's linens but she is very very prompt, and we are renting chiavary chairs, some lounge furniture, and she is going to do the rose pomanders, my bouquet and bride's maids bouquets

I know people say rest assured everything will be fine and work out and etc etc but when you are the paying bride you dont feel like that AT ALL! Its not about being a bridezilla, its about we are paying a lot of money and just want to know what is going on.
I'm sure they will eventually get another coordinator, but because they only opened about 6 months ago, they are probably just starting to get really busy now, with the weddings that have been planned over the last few months.

I know how stressful it is, I was a destination bride too.

Not to say that it's not frustrating, not to say that we're not allowed to feel tense about this whole process, because that's the way it is... But, Jill is right I think in saying that this happens at all resorts, and that the wedding coordinators are unbelievably busy between planning and actually putting on weddings daily! I can't even imagine the number of emails Ana is getting right now. And I think resending emails just clogs up her inbox even more... I mean maybe if you don't hear back for a couple of weeks you could send her a note to make sure your original message was not lost, but other than that just think of this as an excercise in patience! lol. Also, what I hear from most brides on the forum is that the response time gets better as your wedding draws nearer. Again, makes sense that WCs needs to prioritize immediate upcoming weddings over ones happening later this year. We all need to have some faith that everything will come together beautifully in the end. Another thing that I think many brides on the forum would attest to!
Thank you!

Laura - have the most amazing wedding ever! It's going to be AMAZING!!! YAY!

For the rest of us - I'm sorry eveyone is frustrated but I agree, lets take a deep breath and remember that the pictures of the weddings at Dreams look amazing and I'm sure Ana is overwhelmed but will give us the attention we need when it's closer to our date. Our weddings are going to be amazing!

If you're working with a TA, just cc her on every email you send Ana, sometimes it helps get faster responses and then your TA can be the "bad guy" and lean a little more on Ana instead of you having to do it.

I booked a site visit - I wasn't planning on it but I decided I'd feel better if I could just speak to her in person. I know it's not exactly easy and we're already spending a lot on our weddings, but maybe if you're 6+ months out from your wedding you can start looking for deals to fly to mexico for a quick weekend, just to ease your mind?
And of course, for anyone getting married after May 10th (when we get back from our site visit) I'm happy to take pictures and ask questions for you!

Ohhh and Happy Friday!
When is your site visit? We are getting married on May 7th

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
